Wonderful hobby-style and helpful work. Well presented Jonathan,this will help me out so much. i will use a lighter shade of cotton twine from my Mrs B's sewing box. Of course without her seeing me on that Special Ops! Moment. Stay Safe,Stay Well. BB

Great idea, however, be aware of the thread size when you do. Make sure the thread is not thicker diameter than the thread that Warlords provides. I made that mistake with some basic sewing thread from my Wife's sewing stuff. It was much thicker than the Warlords thread and it looked out of place. I did try to separate the thread into the smaller threads intertwined but that was a straight on disaster. I will be looking into some 8/0 thread for fly tying.

Pity the “demo” model chosen was not of a larger scale to aid clarity. Like watching micro surgery without the microscope! Otherwise, narrative sounds good. Subscribed.

Hi, just wondering what Thread you recommend? Thanks. Alan.

Hi Alan, the thread I use is the black thread supplied with the kits for all the standing rigging on the brigs and small ships, replacing the lower fore stays on the larger ships between the main mast and fore mast and bowsprit with black thicker Guttermann polyester thread code Colour Code 000 and brown Guttermann for the running rigging Col Code 209. Hope that helps. JJ

JJ what size thread are you using for your stays and running rigging?
@JJsWargames
@JJsWargames 11 ай бұрын
Hi Daniel, the threads I use are the stuff supplied with the Warlord kits for the standing rigging except for the main stay that runs from the mainmast to the foremast and the base of the bowsprit. This was a heavier load supporting stay and I use a a thicker black thread, Guttermann extra strong thread col. 000 and for the running rigging you want a brown thread as the hemp of the rope wasn't tarred. I use Gutterman col. 209. I hope that is of help. JJ
