As women we need to use wisdom to discern when we should walk away from relationships that would not benefit us. You are a young woman obtaining a postgraduate degree yet here you are pining over an incarcerated man, who will no doubt be limited in his job options which will make you the primary provider in your household. Do you genuinely believe that this is the best you can do? Or this is the spouse God has in store for you? Its so important to break soul ties to avoid confusion and attachment. Please remember that God is not a God of confusion and the mere fact that you have to wonder, should be answer enough. Close that door so God can open a new one.

But you couldn’t tell me anything about it at the time. The naysayers were right in the end, but still, their judgment was neither here nor there in how I handled my relationship with him. Plenty of reasons not to marry a man who is incarcerated. Other people’s feelings about it aren’t really one of them *if* she really believes he is worth marrying at all.

I'm sorry but that's not love.. it's stupidity and delusion.. if everyone is telling us the man ain't 💩 and our intuition is firing off red flags brighter than Forth of July.. than some is wrong with us and not them or the man.. something is wrong with our logic.. and men who ain't 💩 bet and bank on that.. not that we shouldn't embrace our emotional feminine nature, but there should be balence in embracing our masculine logical side by trusting our instincts.. this will keep us from staying in situations way longer than we ever should.. that is when you know you're truly trusting and speaking with God because he speaks thru our intuition and gives us strength to use discernment.

Choosing to remain in relationship with someone or to marry them is a decision that can be made with or without love present. The point was not that she would marry him if she loved him, it was that her preoccupation with others’ opinions shows that she has little if any love for him, as their opinions about her relationship weigh more on her mind than any hope or potential she sees in a relationship with him.

@@AriD2385 nahh I understood everything he said just fine.. sometimes u should worry about what others say bc they are supposed to be neutral.. if they are trustworthy you should consider their opinions in some sense bc they aren't emotionally involved and they don't want the shame of their daughter being married to a criminal convict whose destine to likely provide nothing but struggle love and riticule to her.. yes u can marry someone without love and nice versa but she end of the day sometimes it's best to make head over heart decisions. Just bc I love someone doesn't mean they rt for you and just bec they "right for you on paper" doesn't mean you will love them ever.. love is objective and a fleeting bc it's a feeling.. more women need to move with logic and reason (especially black women) BC going on feels has gotten many women nothing but baby mama status and no generational wealth.. We do love hard. She may truly love that man. I was head over heels for a man I ran away from, simply because of my own up bringing, I ran when it was great too. Raised by a single mom who never dated while I was growing up. So I ran scared. Her worrying about the judgment is completely understandable as our society truly judges others harshly.
