I am currently working on superdetailing the old Italeri 1/24 scale Ford LTL9000 conventional tractor kit;re-issued under the AMT brand;that I bought at Colpar's HobbyTown U.S.A,which happens to be one of my favorite small retail hobby shops.I used a HobbyTown U.S.A gift card that I recieved as a christmas present;to buy the model the MSRP was $92.99 with sales tax the total was $99.96 so the $100.00 HobbyTown U.S.A gift card,was just enough to cover the total cost of the kit and is the most expensive plastic model kit that I have purchased so far.I'm going to be replicating the box art using two different shades of metallic red craft paint from DecoArt;the chassis will be primered first then airbrushed DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Festive Red,while the hood,cab,and sleeper will be primered and then airbrushed with DecoArt Extreme Sheen Ruby Red.Then I will clear coat the hood,cab,and sleeper so that the craft acrylic paint doesn't wash off when I go to apply the decals;then I will gloss coat them again to seal the decals permanently to the model.
