idols are seen as dedicated to their work and fans so the fans get the idea that they’re owed complete devotion from idols, even romantically. the fans are expected to ride or die for their biases, and idols are expected to stay devoted to their work in return. it’s bizarre, prasocial, and unhealthy.

Amidst all this chaos, we forget that seunghan himself eas a victim of breach of privacy! So at the end the victim is blamed, shamed and forced to leave his career. How many times does this have to happen for south Korean fans to finally understand that they are being big bullies and treating idols as nothing more than objects.

RIIZE themselves silently support this boycott, they wanted Seunghan back. At the same time, even if I chant RIIZE is 7 with the rest, I don't want Seunghan to come back. Not as long as the Korean, Japanese and Chinese fans continue this toxic behavior and mindset, not as long as the industry promotes these parasocial relationships between idols and fans, not as long as they continue to exploit an unrealistic and enslaving image of these humans and not as long as they don't hold accountability and decide to truly change this.

I've spent more time on Twitter in the days since Seunghan's exit from RIIZE than I have in the past year. The situation has made me so angry and sad for him that most of my free time is spent dropping hastags about this. I feel like this moment is very important. This is really shaking up the Kpop world. We've seen idols mistreated by companies and fans before, but we've never had a response this strong to it. Seunghan's "transgressions" were so minor and the response from OT6 so cruel and the inaction of SM so tragic, that the world had to step up. I hope this brings real change.

I'm not briize neither their casual listener, but the situation surely reaching everyone in kpop circle and most fans are uniting. I'm in for the boycott. SM really need to be punished and get reality check so badly, because we don't know if Sohee, Wonbin, Shotaro, Anton or any other members will be in Senghan's position. They also might face the same treatment if we don't take action now. They previously faced some hate for different reasons so it might come back and bite their back or even something new might raise. Seunghan will never be able to debut as a solo artist... he didn't have the years to build a strong fanbase unlike lucas or soojin... and even they are struggling. He is also 21... it's too late unfortunately given current trends. Riize is his dream. He comes from a regular family and that means his reputation is at stake for life. Seunghan MUST fight back. He must get so much love that he can stand on stage again with the Riize members with his head held high proudly. Justice for Hong Seunghan!!! Riize is 7!!! ❤️

i blame the companies for fueling the delulus with this type of behaviour, if they all had a stance that an idols private life is private we wouldnt be facing fans who think they can dictate what an idol does in their free time, just cause they spend money on them. fans think they are buying the rights to an idols own being which is crazy and needs to be studied in itself. but like i said its all the ent companies fault for fueling this nonsense for this long. sure having idols "available" does benefit them in the long run but if you can "imagine" yourself dating an idol, if you are that delusional. you can be delusional enough to create a narrative in your head were they are not dating 😂- and are dating you instead. at the end of the day. what an idol does in their private life- if its not morally or criminally corrupt has barely any affect to our lives - or to anyones lives... so why should we care.. I am not even a riize fan but this has been such a bizarre case to witness... i was really hoping sm would come through but they are hellbent to cater to the korean audience even though they wanna go "global" and please the western audience..

FRRRR Like these companies should have set boundaries and stood up for their idols, the reason they probably don't is because of the money that upset fans wont spend on their idols but I don't think they realise properly their idols are the reason they have money and I bet if the majority of kpop fans actually weren't delusional then kpop idols may or wouldn't hide who they were dating or if they were dating or not. I really hope one day those fans get off the Internet and actually find someone they can spend their life with 😭

Justice for Hong Seunghan!!! Let's bring back Hong Seunghan!!! Riize is 7!!! ❤ Seunghan did NOT choose to leave, he was bullied out. That's the whole problem. There is proof that SM is involved in the 2000 funeral wreaths sent. That's vile. Riize themselves are trying their best to protest and help Seunghan. On October 17, at the Blue Happy Festival, they left space for Hong Seunghan. Anton showed 7 through sign language. Eunseok showed support to Seunghan on weverse bio... the rest deleted their weverse bio to support Seunghan. They avoided ot6 at the airport and took the vip route today. They want to be 7. Lets help Riize!!! Today, what happened to Anton at the fansign is heartbreaking. It is a clear sign that the other members will suffer the same fate as Seunghan if we don't help bring Seunghan back! Please, keep the boycott on. Help the members of Riize. Even Korean ot7 gave a loving protest today, supporting Seunghan and Riize in the heavy rains. May god bless their souls. Please, let's bring Hong Seunghan back!!!

What’s hard is this goes so much deeper than a dating scandals it’s literally the Korean culture “ of course there are international fans who act similarly” but it appears to be a Korean fandom issue. Nothing changes unless the culture changes. On top of all of this Koreas repopulation rate is nonexistent so you would think these companies would encourage these idols to date and marry and have families.

For me it’s the fact that Seunghan spent 7 years of his life training for his dream and then his company, who should have had his back after he put all that work in, pushed him aside so easily. These idols are human beings but these companies treat them like puppets on strings. I’m not a Riize fan but a casual listener and I’m fed up with these companies promoting kpop in western countries but then when we have an opinion we’re shut down. As a Canadian kpop fan, I feel so sorry for seunghan, riize and other kpop idols who were bullied out of their companies and groups by these hateful and insecure netizens. These netizens have the nerve to celebrate online when other idols who were in a similar situation to seunghan being told to leave their group, yet these are the same individuals who get mad at idol's fans for speaking up for their favorite idols and shout at them to pick a side or face their wrath. Netizens always have something to whine and complain about, but they fail to understand that what they are doing more harm than good and their actions show how far they will go to ruin someone's career and life just so they can get media attention and cry victim online, which to be honest is just those netizens look more like the bad guy in the whole situation. Companies like sm and many others shouldn't listen to these netizen's constant complaints and accusations, ignoring them and not giving them the authority to create accusations against idols is better than letting them run their mouthes online. SM is great at picking talented idols but suck at their job of protecting the idols. I was excited for Seunghan to return just for SM, ot6 psychos, and those that participated in sending the funeral wreaths outside of SM trash entertainment building ruined the group and Seunghan mental health. Seunghan did nothing wrong but lived a normal life pre-debut. SM could of handle the situation better by: 1.not put Seunghan on long hiatus with no update, 2. Actually do their job of protecting Seunghan and riize, 3. Include Seunghan in the love 119 promotions in the begining of the year, and 4. Not let psycho so-called fans be the deciding factor of the fate of riize. I also believed SM planned on getting Seunghan out of riize because of the way riize is promoted as "6", erasing anything Seunghan related, and took the perfect opportunity when the other members being out the country to get him to leave the group.
