Very good! This girl is fantastic. Makes me wish I had continued to study Karate after getting discharged from the USAF and coming back home. I was studying Shotokan Karate, and when I got back home, all I could find was Ty Kwan Do. So, after 35 years I decided to look around and found someone teaching Isshinryu. So, even though I am older now, I just started that style. I should have stayed in California and kept studying Shotokan. This newer style holds their hands differently. I want do it the same way I learned before, and it's hard to change, but I'm sure I will make the adjustment.

Its actually a good thing you learn multiple styles, that way, you won't be limited to 'just shotokan' or 'just isshin ryu', for instance, the stances, the kumite, bunkai, kata... so you find urself in a situation where shotokan's strong stances come in good use, u can use that, and isshinryu's speed come in useful, u can use that, so don't give up, it is after all still karate OSS

Andrew, its never too late as you know and Isshin Ryu is a great system. I have been into it for over 40 years now and you will adjust. Good luck

siaw sharingan thank you for your words of encouragement. You are right, if in a situation that I can adjust with both styles. I intend to continue with this style and get a black-belt, as long as this senei continues teaching. Although, I am older now, I am very healthy and active, so I have many years to study.

senseipatten Thank you senseipatten, for the encouragement. I am working on seisan kata at this time, and making progress. I have to continue to concentrate, when I pull my hands back to my side, not to turn them. If I don't keep my mind on it, they want to turn automatically, the way I was taught in shotokan but, I have noticed that I'm doing better with it. I am making some progress in adjustments.
