I came for the Blues Brothers parody but stayed for the assembly tips. Looking forward to getting my own bandsaw at some point and not sure if I'll splurge for this one 😬 or REALLY splurge for a Laguna 14BX 😵...

DUDE... that's AWESOME!!! I'm so glad you found it useful! Begs the question though... did help persuade you in favor of this saw, or going with a different one??
@DIYFotoWorks2 жыл бұрын
@@BigLousWorkshop It persuaded me on the Rikon brand. But my tiny workshop couldn't accommodate a 14 inch bandsaw, so I went with the 10 inch Model 3061...Tx again!

Unfortunately no… I’ve not been able to make videos for a while!!! Keep looking though, I’m sure there’s a ton of videos from other people that have explained it in detail!! Thanks so much for the comment.. I really appreciate it.

Hi Lou - what a difference a day makes. I redid the bolt threads on the base and could almost finger tight the them. Unlike you I’m a 64 yr old female - no upper body strength. Took the box apart in the back of my Ford Escape and slowly unpacked it. Everything is out except for the “band saw”. Just need to find some help to unload and attach to the base.
@BigLousWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Oh don’t let my creative editing fool you I actually have the upper body strength of a 64-year-old female!!! Good for you my Dear!!! Whatever it takes to get the job done right, congrats on the new saw, I know you’ll love it!!

Hey Lou! New subscriber here. My 10-326 just arrived today. I was looking for a good unboxing so I'd know what to expect and really like this video! I don't expect to assemble for a few days yet so I appreciate the tip on the fussy bolt and that you gave us the thread size. I'm going to go ahead and order in a tap and die set 'just in case'. I also have the same mobility kit. It looks like there is a fair amount of wobble? Have you done anything to try to reduce it? I plan to resaw some long boards. By the way - did you put together a video on calibration and adjustments? Sounded like you were planning on one... Thanks again. You rock!
@BigLousWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the feedback!!! I greatly appreciate it, and am thrilled that you found the video useful. As for the wobble in the saw it has more to do with an uneven concrete floor, and a little maneuvering to get a flat section for all 4 points to sit on does the trick... but I've also been known to just shove a shim under one corner if I'm in a hurry!! The saw is heavy enough that as long as it's on an even surface (or shimmed) it's perfectly stable and have had no issues with wobble or drift, but then again, I'm not re-sawing any massive 8/4 or 10/4 boards either!!
@christene503 Жыл бұрын
@@BigLousWorkshop Perfect! Thanks so much. I will resaw 8/4 but luckily do have a flat floor.

yeah ... I took the bolt to Home Depot to make sure I bought the right thread tap ... once I ran the tap through once it threaded with no issues... but I guess that's kinda how threading a hole works huh?? Anyway... glad I was able to help!!
@valeriewest54924 жыл бұрын
Beauuuuuutiful. Not one piece of it came pre-assembled?!? Oof. I can see why you delayed this project. It seems like you oiled the platform at least twice. Was that your own preference or factory recommended? Sealant? Glide assist? (Oh you’re right, the double entendres are everywhere.) 😳
