If tightening is an issue cut a slot into one side of the shaft so you can use a screwdriver to hold it steady, it also helps for resetting a wheel as you can mark it coincide with the slot. I had the same problem of wanting a clear bench so I use Antiluce fasteners and have low profile plastic plug for times when I want to use the bench clear.

Watch out for standing or looking in the plane of the wheel. My usual vibration problems with new grinders comes in side to side wobble from crooked arbor washers. Positioning washers is a usual cure in the book. Try measuring washer runout minus the stones. A dead true running stone is a joy!

Some of these commentators must be kind of dumb to miss what you did to have the wheel be better for you to work with . I know i heard you explain ways you tried to first fix it and then explain how you fixed it just enough but you also said there is room for improvement and to comment what people think will improve your wobble. Good job and dont let these suckers take your dignity because if they were better then you they wouldnt be watching videos on how to fix their problem .. take care

At 08:15 time of your video you speak about an “early video” you previous made on BALANCING THE WHEELS, could you replay me directly THE LINK OF THAT VIDEO (I've seen you have my e-mail) ? …because you see, Garry, fact is, some of your recommendations in your movie are useful for me & some not, example: in my garage, because the space I dispose for my tools I can’t REVERSE the two wheels at my wish, so the definitive solution for me would be TO MAKE A GOOD BALANCING OF THE TWO WHEELS BEFORE MOUNTING THEM ON THE SHAFT OF THE GRINDER so… Looking for the link, thanks a lot in advance for your understanding

Fixing the issue with a more rigid mounting surface doesn’t solve the problem.

@@GaryLundgrenCrafts he's saying it doesn't solve the problem, it masks the problem. You mentioned that its not usually worth balancing "smaller" wheels 8" and under, but I disagree. If used for fine sharping of chisels and lathe tools, they do need to be balanced (either by using the special mounting flanges made by OneWay or by drilling and removing material from just outside the blotter area).

I think he has a point, but didn't explain himself or there's another way. How about balancing one wheel first, then when done, add the second wheel and balance that one . Thanks for the video. I never thought about swapping/reversing the wheels or rotating the washers 👍
