I bought a refurbished 650 AVS2 from Riley for the 350 chevy hotrod I have yet to finish. To test it out I ran it on my 1975 Lincoln 460 for a while and it ran GREAT. I will definitely buy from Riley again.

Back in 1980, I started rebuilding carbs ,alternators, and starters. For extra money. Now, at my age, I wish I had Marcella working for me! Awesome job, Marcella ! And great video ! Jim from Napa California

I have the same carb. 650cfm. Bought it from Riley's. I have it on an older (gen 2 maybe) sbc350. Mild cam. 1.62" long tube Headers. Rpm performer dual plane intake. Stock heads. 3" exhaust straight pipes. I've only changed the step up springs to one size lighter at this point. From orange to silver I think. If I remember correctly. There is a dead spot or it falls on it's face sometimes when I punch it. Rolling into it no issue. I've adjusted the secondary to where I think it's opening at the right time. Do I go up in jet and metering rod? Make it rich or should I lean it out to get rid of that drop off on the throttle punch? What do you suggest?

@@jasonrigano8619 I’d be typing for the next hour. 😆 Timing first. Then start with the quick easy adjustments to see if it wants more fuel (or less). Move the accelerator pump rod to the hole closest to the pivot point.

Hi. I have a holley 670cfm thats been in my 78f250 since i bought it in 2014. I called holley in 2015 to find out how old it was etc. All the tech said was wow. I never did find out anything other than holley stopped making the 670 years ago. I was getting info because the 460 had to get rebuilt. I bought a new holley 650 but the 460 ran horrible so i put the 670 back on it. I had a 76f150 with a 460 in the late ninetys that i put a holley on it and it ran really great. Ive learned a lot about carbs in the last 10 years. I still have more to learn. I do know that i still prefer carburated engines over efi. Anyway thanks for putting your videos out here so that the rest of us can learn from you. I know i left out a bunch of info but i didnt want to make this too long. Oh; 1 question. How do i check the vacuum to see if the holley 650 has the correct size power valve in it.

@@jasonrigano8619 there’s a lot of info in those older videos. Should be able to help smooth that dead spot out no problem. It’s just working through the process. Let me know if you have any questions as you work through it.
