Stop vehicle leave engine running message.
caused by a weak battery.
battery replacement has fixed this issue on this Mercedes Benz C Class 2.1 diesel

10 degrees F this AM, I previously suspected that the battery would soon need to be replaced. The car started begrudgingly, then this message popped up. Thanks for posting, will have dealer test and replace the battery if need be. .

2 day ago 2009 Mercedes Benz gl450 dashboard warning lights come on as "Drive to workshop without changing gear," I disconnect negative terminal on battery, now the sign is disappear the engine turn on and transmission go on all gears. do you have any ideas what was wrong with it

Thanks for the video😎 My 2018 c220d has also been showing the same message for the past week when I start the car up in the morning but the message goes away after driving for 10 mins or so. I'm getting a new battery fitted tomorrow morning. I got my battery tested at Kwick Fit a couple days ago they said the battery was fine, then again they were using an out of date battery tester from like 20 years ago, nothing like what your using Lol

If you test a battery right after you have been driving it may give false results as its been charged while driving. Best to do after the car has been off for a few hours

When it's says recharge and test it means, fully recharge, completely. with a smart charger eg: I use Optimate 111. This will bring a bad battery back to life you may have to repeat charging two or three times. This charger is smart. I use it on my motorbikes, l leave it on all winter as a trickle charge. I have had two bike batteries say they are U/S after three charges, they are as good as new.

It will tell you “auxiliary battery malfunction” if your auxiliary battery had issues.

My 2017 GLC300 just started displaying the same warning light, drove it around for the day and went restart but, no warning display?? I'll keep an eye on it but, we'll see if it reappears??

When you drive the vehicle it recharges the battery. If the battery is Good it won't come back but if it comes back it's best to change the battery

I think this occurs because something comes on in the car while its off our mercedes radio goes on and off by itself with the car off so turn ur music up high when u get out to see if u hear it i think thats why ours has this msg

I wish you I was closer to you ! My Vito has developed a whistle , predominately when the turbo kicks in at 2000 revs. Should I get worried??😱

If it's a screeching whistle it could be the dreaded exhaust manifold bolts snapped 😢

Not really a big risk factor but I have seen some battery issues cause the center display screen to blow

@@destanyhope no immediate risk but it will overwork the alternator by trying to constantly keep it charged so wear it out over time. And it will decrease mpg slightly

You should disconnect the battery from the car before testing because there is a second, auxiliary battery that can give a false reading.

on the W205 there is a s small capacitor inside the car which just allows you to put the gear leaver into neutral and out of park. on the W204 you have a small battery in the boot.
