i had this problem when it was -30 C (-22F) for a week where i leave. But when it got over -10 it ended showing that message

Because the temps are warmer no need for the msg. Same as mines changing it next week warmer this week. Don’t want it to be super cold 🥶 with my thumb out for a jump.

Legit Video man, that helped me. I did exactly that, and seems to rule out it being the Altonator as it went from 12 with the engine off to 15 with it on. By the way, not sure if you know this, but it it reads 12 exactly with the engine OFF... does that mean it will need to be replaced soon?

You need to use a one scan reader to reset the vehicle system.

You forgot about the saving the codes.You either keep a charge while replacing or buy that code saver device for $28.If you disconnect without anything you could be in trouble with the cars computer.I changed mine few months ago.My mobile mechanic simple kept a charger on after disconnecting battery.Started up car with new battery.No Problems.Warning light gone like Biden in 2024.

These batteries have a vent tube that discharge the gases into the fender or under the engine bay. You can see the little red connector for the tube on the side of the battery near the negative terminal.
