I saw a comment on your other video that noticed the humor of the "water" melon theme becoming fire themed. So I think the wonder effect may have been even more appropriate than you thought!

yeah I honestly hadn't thought of the watermelon -> firemelon pun before people in the comments pointed it out

This was my favorite custom level so far. I really like how you handled the “one-off” mechanics. They still seemed to work with the level and added some extra whimsy! I think I’m going to try and look for ways to add one-off mechanics to my own stuff. Also, that wonder effect is 🔥

This level is spectacularly designed. Your attention to detail when it came to the talking flowers and balancing out the level (like the thing with getting 3 or 4 1ups regarding the piranha plants on the rolling hill) is unlike any other level designer I've seen thus far. Mad props

I'm glad you're continuing to make videos on your custom levels. Your level design is great, I love seeing the process. And your attention to grounding random floating objects doesn't go unappreciated lol

Glad Nintendo is finally letting you make these types of videos again! Keep up the great work! Also I have a level idea for you (What if you made a level with giant Koopa shells you have to walk through, and every shell has a different wave of enemy’s! I think it could be a fun spin on the regular levels, plus it’s an excuse to make custom enemy models!

that's an interesting idea, though I think the problem players would run into is that the fire flower isn't as effective against fire enemies as the bubble flower in general I prefer keeping a level's main power-up consistent throughout

You Should Make A Sky Level Where You Start At The Bottom But Climb A Really Tall Vine To The Sky Where You Will Dodge Enemies. Collect Power Ups. And Jump A lot. Halfway Through The Level Is A Moving Platform That You Ride Dodge Spinys And After That You Find The Wonder Flower Grab It And Piranha Plants On Parade Start!

Custom models in levels are so cool, does the melon overwrite only the model in this specific level or will all levels that use the rolling balls now have melons?
@TrilbyTrilbyАй бұрын
Hey Rimea, bit off topic for this sort of video, but would you consider of doing a playthrough of the Super Mario Evolution level pack? I think it would be interesting to hear context and some of the thought process behind some of the levels.
@RimeaАй бұрын
I didn't make a single level in that pack actually, though I might still do a playthrough of it some day I suppose
@ecstaticwooper368Ай бұрын
Holy crap this looks actually incredible. The aesthetics look awesome with everything tying in to the melon theme, the different ways you used the rotating melons were... just absurdly creative, seriously this is better than most official Wonder levels! The almost completely original Wonder effect also blew me away, and I LOVELOVELOVE how you can also play through without it and still have fun. The orbiting Podoboos are also an EXTREMELY cool element, and the fact that you made such an incredible level in Fushigi is just baffling. Seriously amazing work, I can't understate that and god I'm not even halfway through the video :D

Yes, if I really wanted to I could've worked around things like the light beams cutting off at the top, but I had conceived of the level as mostly horizontal from the start either way.
