Would love to see a video tour of your blasting setup. There are so many ways to go about it, I'd like to see yours.

When I talked with a few other coaters that use the GreenSolv and GreenSolv themselves they really recommend cleaning it out between sets of wheels going in/out.... Someone had a huge ladle looking deal they swipe thru and clean it out with

I'd still blast them anyway so i know the profile is on point. Actually, I'd still keep the same process of stripping, blasting, outgassing, the only thing that would change is the smell of my shop lol

Who built your chemical tanks and can you explain what you do with the “old stuff” when you decide to buy new / switch it out
@omalleycustomcoatingsjimmi48393 жыл бұрын
HIGHLY suggest building you a cage to hold wheels and a electric hoist. I have that above my Rim strip deal..couple of 1” square stock with a eyebolt welded and a small piece of steel to hold against the mounting flange of the wheels...makes life sooo much easier. They say if you do that GreenSolv it kinda etches the wheel for you? Did that happen? (Haven’t finished watching the video yet)

So how do you still like it 6 months later? Does it still work fast or has it slowed down? How is it keeping the tank clean? Looking to switch to something similar soon.

Do you need a stainless tank for greensolve or can it be regular mild steel?
@jasonstatement3553 Жыл бұрын
How do you dispose of these chemicals after they're no longer useful? I run a shop here in Europe, it is unheard of to use potent stuff like that, not even available.

Can you please explain what's the full process of the striping, and what do you do with the dirty liquid. Thanks bro

Just put part in, pull out, if clean we rinse over a spill pallet and the sludge sinks to the bottom, when its getting full we suck water out and put sludge in drum, and pay way toooooo much to have it hauled out.

Hello. The other tank has soda ?? What kind of reaction does to the stripper ?
@RightNowPowderCoating3 жыл бұрын
its a rinse thank and we add baking soda to neutralize it. It foams ups and gets you the ph you need
@adambullyan16063 жыл бұрын
Do you do anything as far as treatment of the rinse water before it goes down the drain? I use greensolv but we are in a industrial condo and the neighbors complain about the smell in their drains from our rinse water?

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who’s rim strip is just sludge 90% of the time. How much rim strip do you go through on average ? I do probably 2-3 sets per week and I’m going through 50 gallons every 3 months.
@RightNowPowderCoating3 жыл бұрын
We were doing about the same. I ordered a barrel every 6 to 8 weeks.
@omalleycustomcoatingsjimmi48393 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve noticed mines almost pretty much sludge at this point. Cleaning out the overpack drum is some times a nightmare...and it turned my rinse tank so acidic you could use that water to charge a car battery I swear.

Wait till you try to strip a Lexus or Toyota wheels it will take days plus blasting. I have 2 tanks 1-GreenSolve and the new Benco B17E. The Benco out performed GreenSolve every time at half the cost for the chemicals. Martin is super nice but I’ve never been able to strip 3 sets of wheels in a 10 hour day. I’ve had GreenSolve for 4 years now.
@RightNowPowderCoating3 жыл бұрын
So is b17e like greensolv? Does it need heated too?
@WheelTek863 жыл бұрын
@@RightNowPowderCoating yes it does; Phil @ Benco has a new tank that we were lucky enough to be asked to real world test drive and I like the fact that they use a heating element in a oil bath floor. It’s much larger than GreenSolve tank. I had problems with the size of the GreenSolve tank; I couldn’t fit a set of Porsche staggered wheels in it, too small. Basically I gave Benco all the pros and cons of both tanks and they are now about to produce a new tank worth buying. The tank I have I can fit 8- 18” wheels in with the rack. Strip time is averaging 2.5- 3.5 hours for Mercedes ect. You still need to keep the b17 for the Lexus wheels. We let them sit overnight in either tank then we put them in b17 for 15 minutes and they are bone clean. So yeah there’s a lot of information on the subject.

We had it custom build per B17 guidelines. Its a stainless something or another we had a local fab shop make, for that tank and our rinse tank it was like 4 or 5 k.

@RightNowPowderCoating3 жыл бұрын
We were buying one every month, so we were at like 8400 a year, with this chemical we should be at like 2000 to 4000 a year. So Save 4000 to 6000 a year, it will pay for itself that way in less than 4 years. Also its much safer for us and stable according to the Greensolv.

@@RightNowPowderCoating yea, i just put in an inquiry to them. I have b17 now, but the price went up, they're dicks, and i just don't want to really deal with harsh chemicals hence why we went from wet paint to powder coat. Yes, you have to keep it topped off, we have not cleaned it in a bit due to switching. But we noticed you have to keep it fresh or it stops working as well. The benefit is we should get more wheels in and out with much less sludge...flakes....paint debris.
