One research for 2 1/2 years, one grave before everyone else became breakfast, the rice burning like six separate times, multiple starvation deaths due to breaks, using a disease to fix all your other diseases, boomalope upgrade reminders, a two-year transition to stone and stable food... Randy was definitely Randying quite Randily. My personal favorite so far was traders you'd already tapped out gifting you magically summoned silver. Sorry to hear about the RNG run. I don't know when this was shot, but hopefully you will have (had?) a chance to recharge and reset so you can approach it in the spirit you wanted.

6:17 The only other part of the min max ideology I would change is to set love to "free and approved" and spouses to unlimited. This gives additional opinion buffs and mood from loving (with restriction to spouse only lovers and fiances actually get debuff from loving) and also theres no problem with pawns hitting on pawns already in a relationship. If everyone is in a relationship with each other they get additional "opinion of lover" buffs and the barracks can turn into a bedroom. Also, intense bigotry is better if you only care about your ideology, but if you setup the other ideologies at the start of the game to be compatible with your main one I find setting diversity of thought to appreciated or exalted (with individualist later on) to be just as good if not better because you get additional mood buffs per different ideology in the colony and you can access additional specialists besides the two you pick for your initial ideology
@AdamVsEverything2 жыл бұрын
It's been changed a little since this playthrough (this was months ago), but poly/free was annoying at the time because the pawns in the relationship not sleeping with together would get a -4 debuff. Now you can just squeeze together beds in the same room (or get modded poly beds, of course). So I just didn't feel like micromanaging who slept with who in the big love clusters all the time. :P It's definitely better overall if you also min/max all the ideologies in a playthrough, but I was only (mostly) min-maxing my own for this run. I didn't min-max map etc, for instance. In some other fluid ideology runs I have completed since this series I liked to go with neutral until late game, then cover everything in the main ideology's style, and then reform to intense bigotry, but I didn't do it for this initial one.

Lol. It's a brutal RimWorld, and sometimes to get to space you have to build the rocket pad on top of a pile of corpses. -- One of the nice things about RimWorld in general is that there are a ton of ways to play. A lot of the more min-max sort of ways just also happen to be cut-throat (like real life, I guess, unfortunately). I do plan on doing a 'Good Guy' run in the near future, though, which should be really tough for me after all this murder and what not.. lol

@2:24:00 I was able to flip this tile to a temperate forest. Yes! It will have the same layout! But to get the tile, the overall temperature is cold, like below freezing on average cold. Not sure it's worth playing a temperate forest map when everything is that cold. You can also flip it to a desert tile too if you drop the world rainfall down (you also lose the river w/ overhead mountain). Naked brutality + desert is quite difficult. To increase the chances of survival in this case, you can make it a "temperate" desert by kicking down temperature to reduce the reliance on wood. PS Zoe is adorable!

by the way anniversary comes from latin, "annum" means year and "versum" means turning, basically making full circle, in english it became synonim of any milestone, you can have anniversaries for months or even days, but in italian it's more clear where it comes from since year is "anno", so we usually say "mesiversario" in the case of months, since "mese" means month. there are many english words that make no sense until you tap into latin, another example is "library", "liber" meaning book in latin

What does min-maxing mean exactly?? sorry if you've explained this before Adam
@AdamVsEverything2 жыл бұрын
It basically means maximizing everything you can for the most gain, even if it is just a minimal increase. In RimWorld that means not building corners unless you 'need' them, using only the most efficient food, taking as many things that will give +mood as you can, only using the best weapons, etc. In another game, let's say an RPG, it could be something like having different sets of gear that are specifically better for certain things and switching between them to min-max the encounter before the fight or such. These are just a few examples, though, it can be applied to a ton of things.

Do u have any tips how to easily convert the ideology of new pawns into the colonys ideology. I currently have some issues with "diverse thoughts".
@KingLoser44452 жыл бұрын
Arrest them and convert them as a prisoner. When they are converted, just release them and they will re-join the colony automatically.
@AdamVsEverything2 жыл бұрын
The best way is to arrest them and set them to convert. Then make sure your best social pawns are set as priority wardening. You can also use the conversion ritual and the moral guide's convert ability on cooldown (if you have one). If you are playing as Fluid or just want to have an easier time converting in general I'd also say to use the Proselytizer meme as it gives a bonus. Another thing I have done occasionally is make sure the prisoner has a terrible living condition so that they will have a crisis of faith and reduce their belief by 50%. After that I'll clean the prison up or move them to a better one to finish off the last 50%.
@wolfen2109592 жыл бұрын
@@AdamVsEverything I don't know if you've ever watched Francis John, but he did a guide for fastest way to convert pawns. Turns out ritual followed immediately after with the convert ability is pretty much faster than any other way. Torturing them by keeping them in an awful room amd/or starving them, actually takes longer because of the random Ideology chosen when having a crisis of faith, which resets their faith to 50%. It's also a pretty evil way to treat future colonists, I know, I know, some people are just wired that way, but I can't even bear to hunt the wildman/woman that wanders in, even if they eat half my crops. From my own testing, if you don't have a pawn with a high social skill, it's best just to keep them in a darkened room until their faith falls to about 50% ish, then do a ritual followed by the convert ability. I have to say that even though Ideology has a lot of very cool features, it makes far too many changes to the base game, so much so that it feels like a completely different game than Royalty/1.2 patch.

I don't know if the mood debuff is worse than food poisoning but I doubt it, and Kibble can never give food poisoning, so it's an awesome way to level a bad cook safely, albeit at the cost of the mood debuff for eating Kibble. And it requires meat, of course; perhaps this is its most serious limitation at the beginning of a challenging run, but perhaps even that can be overcome by making cannibalism acceptable and using human meat. 😂🤮

It can be nice to do, especially early game when the trap tunnel isn't too long. Of course will depend on the enemy time-to-attack whether closing the far out or close one is more feasible.

22:04 When you're talking about 100 pawns, I wish Rimworld can run with multiple cores instead of one. Edit: No, chat. Doesn't matter if a super computer can do it unless you have a processor that has a single core but one as powerful as multiple regular cores. Edit2: I'll check out RimThreaded. Thanks, chat.

Never played rimworld but these breakdowns are annoying, how would you prevent them?
@AdamVsEverything2 жыл бұрын
Most breakdowns are associated with mood. The lower the mood, the higher chance of a worse and worse breakdown. In this particular start we had some extraordinarily bad RNG so it was hard to get the mood where we wanted it. This in addition to the difficulty settings I play on led to just a ton of breakdowns.
@randomyoutuber55632 жыл бұрын
@@AdamVsEverything they do have a trait that makes a certain type of person less likely to break but even then, imagine you had worms, and were sick, you had no KZbin or anything to keep your mind off the constant pains and anguishes of a life of pretty much non stop suffering. The break risks are actually based off real life which is one of my favorite things about the game, the realism!
