If you also have an Amazon Alexa, you can tie the lights into routines, too. This is what I do with mine... After 9PM, I have it set up that if any of the three lights (or my front door bell) detect motion, the lights will go on, as will a lightbulb inside the house which is right by my front door. The idea being they might see the light inside go on and go away. Not claiming it will really stop a burglar - but it strikes me as something worth doing. After 5 mins, the light on the inside will turn itself back off - the Pathlights will turn themselves back off after a minute.

My Ring Alarm outdoor light sign broke after one year and nothing wrong with the battery. It was fully charged. @@(solar powered). Brand new is always nice. But after one year?
@tapetwo7115 Жыл бұрын
You should always charge it first to 100% with the wire, then put it outside during the sun and trust the solar the next morning/afternoon and everyday after that. Same with the cameras. I never have anything below 88% if I start the first sunny day at 100% full home charge. Years will go by and still good.

Amazon also has lots of options, but buy a decent one, not the cheapest. Have done this several times for my non-ring solar lights and they work great for many years and I save the parts to piece others together from winter damage etc.

They work all by themselves. If you have the app, you get extra functionality. They do work with the alarm, but it’s optional.

I'm not going to take the time to watch this video because I know the Ring Pathlights are not for me. I purchased a set of 6 less than a year ago and they have been nothing but trouble. The main problem is they won't stay charged. I live in California and we have sun most of the time. I try to keep the solar panels clean so they can receive the maximum benefit of the sun. I still have to charge them myself via the charging cable as the solar panel doesn't keep the battery charged. Ring has replaced a couple of units that stopped charging. They aren't bad when they work. Just don't expect to set them up and never have to do anything else. Today, I am in the process of charging all six units once again. If you buy these, don't say you weren't warned.
