oh, do they need the bridge? I wish it didn't. We have the ring doorbell. So, were you able to control the light in the app to stay dim, unless motion detected? I'm trying to figure our how often it'll need to be charged if light stays dim at night, esp, in colder areas where there might not be enough sun.

I think the issue would be can the lights “see” the bridge. we have the bridge in the middle of the house and it works. worth giving it a try. you could also get a second bridge.

Idk they seem really cool but I’ve seen a lot of the same negative reviews with pics. Do you have an update on how they’re working after a year? I ask because I’ve seen bad reviews on both the solar recharge and battery operated. Water seems to get into the battery ones and ruin them. The solar ones I’ve read the batteries fail and ring doesn’t sell the batteries so you have to get a replacement light. Idk I just feel like these aren’t as good as buying a low voltage wired kit in a disk til dawn timer.
@Appmyhome2 жыл бұрын
we have had to replace the batteries. Batteries Plus sells them. Recently we couldn't find the batteries at the local Batteries plus and ended up just buying two new lights. (basically 2x battery cost). Turns out they redesigned at least the solar panel part of the light, you can totally tell as the surface is much more uniform. Does this make them better? Only time will tell. As for Amazon selling replacement batteries, well that is an issue for sure. Not sure given they sell batteries that they don't.
@MrPHUCKYOURSELF2 жыл бұрын
@@Appmyhome thanks for the info. Yeah it just doesn’t sound too impressive to me. The concept is really cool but ever since the whole covid lockdowns I’ve really put in a lot of thought to where I spend my money. This feels kinda like it might be a waste. I’d rather spend on something I know that would last for many years.
@Appmyhome2 жыл бұрын
@@MrPHUCKYOURSELF understood. one thing I can say is when the batteries are still good, they work really well lighting the path, and recall triggering ring cameras to record. That said, if all you are doing is lighting a path then simple solar lights would do the trick. We'll keep an eye on these updated models to see if they last longer. Oh and the other two we have with the batteries plus batteries are still going strong.

Does the motion sensor work and trigger the cameras to record during the day time too? Or this only happens during dark hours?

Hi again! I’m deciding on which lights to get. The solar ones or the battery powered ones? Tell me please!
@Appmyhome4 жыл бұрын
We’d suggest the Ring Solar pathlights. They do have a battery that is charged by the sun, if you don’t have enough sun you can still charge them inside. We haven’t tried the battery only, they are cheaper but we think the solar is worth it.

Hi I bought these after watching your video but my lights r completely off and only turn on with motion. How can I enable the setting that they stay on dim and when detected motion they go bright for sometime?
@Appmyhome3 жыл бұрын
Hi Avineesh, I know what you mean, I was confused at first. There is a setting because you can see how it worked in the video. This said, they are at Valeries mom's house. So next time we visit I'll update this note on how as we can't access the light setup remotely from her account.

@@Appmyhome I bit the bullet and bought six of them set them up this weekend. I wanted to get them in before the first frost or the ground getting hard. So far I like them I’m a little bit disappointed in how dim they are though when they are not motion detected. I’m looking through the settings but it doesn’t seem to be a place to set the standby illumination. They also didn’t seem to charge to 100%. I put them all on chargers for several hours one actually reached 100% but then when I checked it the second time it dropped to 94%. They’ve been outside 12 hours and they are still somewhere in the 80% range. Perhaps it’s just something with the software where it’s not reading the proper voltage.
@Appmyhome3 жыл бұрын
@@dr.victorstrange6848 glad you like them. As for the battery charging you might want to check with Ring to see if it's an issue and if they need to replace it. We found once they are in the ground the sun keeps them charged up enough for a night of light. I don't recall that you can set the standby illumination. We'll check with Valeries mom next time we visit and see if there is a setting, and respond if we find one.

What color brightness are they daylight or warm ?. Very informative video 👍
@Appmyhome4 жыл бұрын
You know we aren’t sure and there doesn’t appear to be any spec on that at least that we could find. Basically when they are at their standby brightness they are a pleasant color and when motion is detected they go full brightness which looks to be more daylight in color.

Can't speak tp dusk to dawn, but they did last a long time. We just didn't wake up early enough to see:) They are dim by design until they sense motion, which as you can see is a handy feature.

You now I don't recall if it did have the pull tab. But of course if it did you would need to pull it. As for charging, depends on how much was in the battery to start. We were able to use these without charging and the sun did the rest.
