In the LOTR PC game the campaign is set in the second age and has Galadriel, Elrond, with the dwarf army and Elven army fighting the Witch King and his army, and the Goblin King and his army . Hoping we see this adapted in this series.

As long as they aren't retconing established characters the diversity shouldn't matter, middle earth is a franciful version of real earth, and real earth has black people. However you can see yourself in any character no matter the skin colour or gender.

Yeah I disagree I think that this show sucks. It’s 2 hours in and it hasn’t grabbed my interest at all. The characters and the storylines are really bland and boring and that just goes down to the writing. This isn’t a slow burn it’s just poorly written and as a result it’s just this jumbled mess bouncing around from beautiful landscape to beautiful landscape with people spewing countless exposition. This show just feels like Bezos threw a boat load of money at inexperienced producers and told them make me the next game of thrones.

My understanding on why the village wasn’t attacked was that the orca were still building the tunnels to that village and they found the other sacked town early enough for them to have time to evacuate their village
