LoR is seeing record sales and yet Riot is talking about highs and lows and how tough a year its been. It is my hope that a similar Q&A in 2025 is one where these Riot employees find their stride and go on to produce quality content without clearly facing as much stress and pressure as they did in 2024.

You have to bear in mind that this was the same year that they dropped the State of the Game video where they announced discontinued support for new cards in PVP. This was also the same year where a lot of cuts were made (vo's, flavor text, the dev team etc.) getting new cards out, so calling this a year full of "highs and lows" would definitely be appropriate. That said, I'm pretty hopeful for the future of LoR. Looks like they're finally profitable and the sneak peeks of QoL's, Events, and new PoC champs all look crazy exciting.

As someone who now exclusively plays POC, it still leaves a hole in my heart with no new skins, emotes, unique battle passes or even the old ones like they said. This was a game I was fine putting monies but i don’t see myself putting anymore in. It feels weird to spend real money to upgrade a card for poc. I hope later on they’ll offer discount in the store for the regular store cosmetics not the just special stuff so I can grab an older skin or emote if I play pvp again for the emote. I really believe this game will continue to get better since it’s one of my favorite and been playing since the beta and even made some video of it

After reinstalling the game and playing a few hours of path of champions, I totally forgot how much fun this game mode is. Unpopular opinion but, by now, I think poc is by far the main reason for the downfall of pvp

We don't know their plans for next year, lol. Plus a record sales for the game doesn't mean it's big enough to justified more budget. Remember that they have always been running at a loss. So if they finally be profitable that doesn't mean much.
