Lol thank god I found someone with thinking skills. Its trully all they need to do and also way easier to implement into the game's code. Yes there will be cases where f.e 2 very good players + 3 medium randomly get chosen in the same team to be against 5 medium players making it unfair but its wayy better to have unfair games SOMETIMES than to have unfair ones EVERY FUCKING GAME!!

​@@Dustin97y For high elo players there will need to be a wider elo selection of players. For example: 1 sov, 2 chall, 3gm on one team and the same for the other. Or: 1 chall 3gm 1 master on both teams. For now thats early season just match gms with masters together randomly with both teams having the same number of master/gm players. They dont have to put 5sov vs 5sov to find queue, just equalize the number of elos for both teams. What do you have to say about this?

This isn’t surprising to me because I am an old man that has played League PC since Season 1 before switching to WR. Exact same controversy occurred like 10 years ago when they switched matchmaking from ELO to MMR. The ultimate reason Riot uses MMR over ELO is because the player base values shorter queue times over higher quality matchmaking. PC today uses the same MM algorithm but with slight changes to the relative weight of variables such as KDA. Only real difference is LP instead of marks so bad players have a harder time climbing in PC than WR ranked. Many many years ago when champs’ feet was shaped like pizza, PC matchmaking used to only be based on win rate (ELO). It would make ELOs between players on both teams close to even. But this made matchmaking in High ELO hell to even get in a game when you were ranked high enough. The highest ranked players had to wait like 20 minutes or more to get in a game and a lot of players quit for that reason (not to mention dodging just started to get exploited to make the situation even worse). The exact same issue has repeated itself in WR Legendary Ranked. Legendary Ranked uses MMR but unlike normal ranked it tries to match people with similar stats together. But Legend players like Starting and Lebmont quit LQueue because of the 20 minute long queue times of Legend players. Because of the shorter queue times and what the player base values despite what the most vocal influencers say, Riot will never switch back to ELO nor equalize MMR in games as a lot of people like DB have called for. Almost nobody truly wants better matchmaking because they are not willing to wait 10-20 minutes to play a game in that system. If they valued game quality over queue times they would play Legendary Ranked instead of normal ranked. Instead of trying to convince Riot to switch to ELO or evening stats for longer queue times. I think for WR the easier battle to win to improve games is to save Legendary Ranked in the global servers.

Not just Legendary Ranked, also in Wild Rift early seasons of Ranked, players in high elo had problems with queue times, even content creators complained about that, before they started to complain about quality of matchmaking

I actually just quit recently because of these issues. I was top 100 on the leaderboards for my champion performance, and as I was climbing to that, my teams kept getting worse and more toxic. I was able to carry some of those games up to that point, but I eventually reached a tipping point where my teammates had no idea how to play the game. I watched a garen go 0/14/0 in my game, jungler didn't know how to use smite, etc. All in diamond elo, which is supposed to be an elo for experienced players. The better I performed and was able to carry, the more impossible my games became to win to the point my teams are inting so badly there is no coming back from it. It's like the game is telling me to stop trying so I can get carried by someone else. But who wants to play like that? That is not anyone's idea of fun.

It's clear that, while inting Sion (for example) is a valid strategy in and of itself, especially depending on your matchup if you want to interact with your lane opponent or not, it also unintentionally created better conditions for future matches which isn't necessarily the strat's fault.

If they remove KDA, damage, tower stats etc, and leave win-loss as the only factor, and then put back LP match differentiation, then we can see if inting Sion is actually legit or not. As long as stats manipulate matchmaking, and rank deviates from MMR the way it currently does, we cannot tell what is legitimate or not, since rank for most people is simply random.

I play in high grandmaster/low challenger elo and inting sion is just dumb, it's not even that hard to pull off the issue is you can take down 1/2 of turret's HP with demolish prock and hullbreaker on top of that sion cleares wave so your toplaner can't really respond I do agree that splitpush should be always viable strat but I've seen multiple games where sion had 0/16 and ran down every side lane to push with ulti u either need at least 2 champs with at least 2 CC to prevent this or have tryndamere who does the same in order to balance it out it's really not fair and I think that demolish should get nerfed heavily or buff sidelanes tower's armor because sion charges bot u send 2 member to stop him to not get destroyed while enemy starts baron which u obviously don't want for enemy team so u play 3vs5 team fight while sion takes down tower with his demolish prock hullbreaker and passive and it's just dumb I lost so many games due to this it's not even funny

Naw, it's not the procs that are the issue but Sion himself, you can do the same strat with Tryn but it's less effective due to his stats and kit. Fix his numbers and he should be fine.

What WR devs does with the matchmaking is that they want you to play more so if u have high kda and high damage dealt then ur gonna be paired with less skilled teamate on ur next game againts more skilled enemies. making u play more games and spend more time with the game. If they gone with mmr based matchmaking then there no unfairness whatsoever cause each match both team has equal or near equal total mmr.

Welp, after confirming this video with my experience. I can only say WR MMR system just follows Democracy system. When bad Players are in the majority, the game will skew positively in their favour. And the minority good player will have to shoulder the burden.

I would check player stats after every game and just face palm at the teammates I was being given. unfair treatment just cant be overlooked. i played this season as soon as it began and for the first time after 4 seasons i have been climbing steadily, im a soloque support player with a 7.0 kda playing mostly enchanter support or tank support sometimes, lately i got a 7 game win streak only to be slammed by a 6 game loose streak with inting trolling and griefing teammates that dont play their role or are autofilled to play a different role, some games i try not to die and carry but sometimes i just get wrecked whatever i do, so i guess ranked is still broken but kinda playable, i just wish they implement chinese client to other servers especially in SEA, there are a lot of troll players in SEA server that get matched with good players really trying to climb

Hey Awesomeness!...💓💓Great Update and Breakdown Content...But, I am going to be honest about WR MM...I am on the verge of quitting Riot...I am honestly tired of being matched up as a Main Support player with averaging a KDA of 6.5% with extremely low quality players...I am constantly loosing rank. Oops, KDA. 😂😂🤣🤣 Here's the problem with this dev's response: 1) support mains have low KDAs, so either they get punished under his new envisioned system by getting matched with psychopathic 1v9 Rengars, or if exempted, everyone rushes to play support or dodge. 2) Why can't Riot just use a RANDOM match-making system and work on a better RNG than anyone else in the industry?? Coming from playing Apex Legends I can say without a doubt sbmm or MMR will never be what players want...Call of duty goes as far as giving good players servers with worse ping...It's no longer skill based it's retention based...Gives us a drop of dopamine then the matchmaking will put you where you'll loose to keep win rates around 50%..You get worse teams and face better teams as you win ...it's like this in every game and we will never have true sbmmr

I turned to playing mid and mage/enchanter supp. This makes my gold per minute, damage dealt, damage taken and turret damage lower at the cost of having higher kda and teamfight participation. So far its working, 20 marks masters with 5.5kda and 57% winrate

I'm seriously considering quitting this game. The matchmaking has been so bad the last 2-3 seasons that it makes this game frustrating and not fun at all. I find its so rare to get a matches where the teams are balanced and its a challenge not becuase my teammates suck but because everyone is playing well. I wish they would return the the better but slower matchmaking system. I'd rather wait 5 minutes to get in a good match than wait 20 seconds for a trash game that will only frustrate me.

I’m really not sure I felt it was that big of an issue so far, maybe because I’m low elo. In my experience whenever I play ranked at around gold 1 skill level of my team mates and enemies are pretty even with mine, meanwhile pvp it varies a lot, but in a somewhat predictable way: whenever I lost a bunch I’d get queue’d with really low skill players, whenever I got a win streak I suddenly got into games where everyone was much better than me.

the matchmaking system works badly everywhere, unlike in china region, because it has to choose players from a smaller queue. they can do advertising campaigns, develop infrastructure, hold tournaments in other regions, but it's not profitable for them. for example, in my region, in the official community of the local social network, just over 300 thousand out of a possible 66 million. they just shut down all servers to our region and now everyone plays with a huge delay, somewhere on servers in Turkiye

Honestly this season is a joke. Last season, as a 2 time Master player, I barely scraped into D3, which is fine, I definitely think that the ADC roll was starting to struggle in general and I was still able to climb slowly. But now, after the new items and matchmaking issues, any carry position playing squishy champs, good luck providing anything other than deaths. The second you get caught by any bruiser or tank you die. Tanks and bruisers just follow you through flashes and any defensive abilities anyways, there really is no escaping the damage. Idk, the game is busted in my opinion

I have been playing lol for 10 years. Started WR last december a d I did use inting strategy. Now the algo has changed where if you win too much you are placed with losing players and in some cases mass afk players. If you want to climb now, it’s better you do it with a partner. If you’re too good, you’re being put down. And this is not exactly something I was excited about. But play time is a stat Riot have to promote to show that their game gas x hours of play. Going challenger is an absolute grind.

I started wild Rift in November and won a lot of games all the way to Platinum...I didn't know what inting Sion was but I followed all the advice for being aTop Laner and pretty much did the inting strategy on accident when I ended up in what felt like Smurf que...I seen a night and day difference in my team and opponents and that'sade me slow down a lot till I'm only playing pve on WR

For a very long time Riots been riding purely on the excellent gameplay of Wild Rift while totally neglecting further development of things around player behaviour and matchmaking. This games been out over 3 years, it has been all this time that we've known the differences between Chinas server and the rest are huge too. These complaints have always been around and the reason most players stuck around as long as they have was purely for the design of the combat, graphics etc. The systems of this game are severely lacking and from Papasmoothies tweets it seems a lot like the fixes that players have been crying out for wont be coming anytime soon. Over 3 years and he's talking about Riot trying to "move the needle"? What the actual??????? It is crazy how Microsoft on the Xbox 360 (Yes the 360 all those years ago) had player behaviour systems where players would get punishments for continued bad behaviour on Xbox Live across all games. That we are in 2024 and Riot cant do it just for Wild Rift is a joke and sign of absolute incompetence at the point.

Think about the unintended consequences of using stats to award MMR, thereby changing the difficulty level of the game. It’s not just “inting sion” but in general, any kind of being useless or trolling (Yuumi, or farming senna, Teemo, singed, etc) will be rewarded. And it doesn’t just affect them, but you too, if they end up on your team or the other.

As i've been rank 1 multiple seasons i can say that if you want to win you need to carry that's easy if you are a good player the only hard thing i've faced is tilting after losing even after winning with a 0/15 yasuo on my team Some games i would get 20 kills and see my teammates performance just makes me want to lose more than winning after the game ends my mind just tells me no point of winning let's just lose 10 games because people deserve it . That's what my mind is telling . Before i start playinf i would set a goal like today i have to get 10 points or i won't stop playing . What iam saying is that the matchmaking is 90% of time is fair (for ranked not legendary) if you want to win you will win if you want to lose you will lose . What am suggesting is to not punish me and break my mental because my teammates wants to lose and i want to win . I would start a game as a jungler for example and 5 min into the game we are 0 10 that just makes me want to afk and leave the game like make me belive we can win it we sure can but my mental is telling me to just quit and no point of playing This game is just a mental game all of us has the skills to win but not all has the mental for it

What WR devs does with the matchmaking is that they want you to play more so if u have high kda and high damage dealt then ur gonna be paired with less skilled teamate on ur next game againts more skilled enemies and this escalates specially when ur on a winstreak. Making u play more games and spend more time with the game. If they gone with mmr based matchmaking then there no unfairness whatsoever cause each match both team has equal or near equal total mmr.

What about the autofill bots in ranked ? Theres instances that the "players"have been moving ridiculously ,and just go and fight 1v5 and get annihilated. U can say they are bad players BUT you have to see it to believe it

sometimes you'd see players with level 0 playing ranked which they shouldn't be able to, basically wild rift gives you bots to play with or against and that's frustrating

I have found a solution kinda. I don’t go for kills but I do all I can to influence the game other ways. Mainly focusing on gold. And playing champs that have crazy spikes like master yi and Tristana. All I have to do is wait for them to start a pointless team fight then clean up and save who I can save. This only works if your tamales know how to end a game tho. I would get a penta kill and everyone would go back to base instead of pushing towers! Actually starting to hate this game!

What is the alternative? Just random match making. Like pure random? They had a system in place to try to balance the games. Good and bad players mixed. But it was exploitable. There will be nothing you can make that people can't try to find an exploit of.

In a matchmaking that is based on rank only, your win rate should be high (aroud 60%) when you play in ranks below your skill level and it should drop to 50% when you reach the rank you deserve. MMR is designed to keep your win rate around 50% at any rank. This way, players will climb by playing A LOT OF GAMES, regardless of HOW they play. It is clear that Riot wants your win rate to stay around 50%. This is why Riot implemented MMR in the first place. I think MMR makes ranked games unfair. I can see an use of MMR for PVP and ARAM games. However, I think MMR should be abolished in ranked games.

I know someone i saw his history he has 10 games in 2 days afk 10 games!!!, and he played with me and the funny thing he isn't banned at all and I have to match with this kind. I love how riot try to make rank games be fair and rank up in a stable way but the results is actually the opposite not only the rank is unfair but the way you climb is alot harder now before i was able to climb diamond within a week or so from emerald now everytime i got demoted to EMERALD 1 it takes like 3 years (3 weeks to climb back up) from emerald 1 to diamond 4 most people will say ohhh just skill issue all i can say is your blind af cause im a type of player who doesn't try hard nor be determined to rank up just your casual player who wanna enjoy and rankup so yeah I really hate whats happening on wr right now

I have a 4.4 kda, nothing special. I feel like every single match is a sweat-fest. Barely above 50% winrate, and struggling every match. Most matches are literally decided in 5 mins of match start. No matter how well I perform, if 2 of my teammates are going 1-9 or 0-11 there is absolutely nothing I can do to influence the match. I started solely playing mid to be able to rotate nonstop all match, but by the time I push lane in and begin to rotate, someone is dead. Eventually mid opponent starts to rotate gets free kills and is now back in the match. By this point, the match is a complete shitshow and I'm locked in to a match I cant leave because everyone refuses to ff. Even though no one is trying to do anything different to win the match. Or you have your typical match where someone plays bad and trolls or afks. Not trying to bash teammates I just feel like they are not in their intended elo and have no grasp on basic macro. Handshake objs, look at gold diff, vison, powerspikes, etc.

I'll be honest. I'm so glad they admitted this nonsense system. Why? because now my gf and I can leave this piece of dog sh*t game fully understanding we did nothing wrong to deserve such abuse. I'm MVP in 75% of my games alone. We both range 7-8 kda, 900 gpm, 30k dmg, 6-8k tower damage etc.... And with the inhumane nonsense we've seen for allies in diamond, I'm surprised NATO hasn't sent humanitarian relief yet. I genuinely am only addicted to this game, that's it. The only way to climb is to grind. And I don't mean that in the mmorpg way. It's literally just abuse the fortitude system. I get 10 wins in a row, lose 10, but fortitude gave me +2 in rank. And the advice by the community is always so dogshit. " If you were better (Gume) you'd still win." Then I look at my challenger Shyvana one trick jg with a 1.3 kda 500 gpm 60% wr, twerking at krugs with ult up while her enemy bot lane is pushed into tower playing Jhin Lux...... TLDR; if you're not making money off of this game, and you end season with hundreds of games, you need help and I don't think therapy is enough. I cannot be convinced you're playing this for fun, you're just addicted. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

I am a 4x grandmaster jungle main. I have always played solo queue this game and never had any problems climbing. Last season was a hell. I quit the game since then and now i started 2 days ranked again. I have played 10 ranked games and won 1. Every game full of Trolls. I am demoted now to plat 1. Plat 1 for real. A grandmaster jungler who can't even escape emerald because every game my botlane goes 0-10. Wp riot. I am done with this game. After playing years on pc and playing WR since the start, you guys have actually succeeded in ruining this game for me. I am going back to playing Warzone and the finals now. Actually games where matchmaking isn't shit like this game.

I’m worried additional changes will hurt the game even more. Especially when it comes to punishing players. For instance. I play only off meta picks and have made it to gm several seasons. Will I eventually get 24hr bans everytime I play Janna solo lane with smite even if I go 1/5/32?
