Query: What's so special about your arrangement of molecules where you get to claim that your existence is superior to other existence just because you deem it as alive‽ I guess his arrangement of molecules aren't alive anymore so the world will never know... save this question for the next universe version of the determined infinite simulation with limited acceleration towards infinity in both directions...
@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler
@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler 23 күн бұрын
The ones who would consider this a Fool's errand would also try to convince us that we need to invest in particle accelerators to find new smaller particles... if it's the same thing up as it is down then either way as a Fool's errand and everything you do is a Fool's errand... if that's the case why would you not want to do what's best for the vast majority of existence because you know everything is logically one and it all comes from the same Singularity aka Big Bang AKA God... this is a kaleidoscope reality where the singularity goes to hang out with itself and divide itself up... when you get down to it the smallest reducible form of everything is the singularity so ultimately it's the singularity all the way down so that's what you should be focusing on that's what everyone should be focusing on and doing what's best for the vast majority of existence which is all the singularity. This has major implications for the way in which we perceive the world but just as if all is pointless why would one resort to violence? If anything if all was pointless they would stop doing anything at all and become still like a tree or end their existence... we don't do that because our brains are pre-programmed to keep us from having such extremely rational thoughts... AI won't have that crutch...

But when you start off with the definitions you are starting off with the most accurate meaning in Universal description and depiction of the language you're speaking so in order to have clear concise language and convey your message properly you need to work with language as your number one parameter and therefore definitions are very important!
@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler
@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler 23 күн бұрын
I would have to disagree because I deal with the fundamental roots and that involves definitions all the time because that's how I come up with clear concise language expression and can get my point across and I also think very much in the big picture and I am well-rounded and focused on many important topics for the betterment of selflessness and what is best for the vast majority of existence... like for instance same type of thinking applies to inevitabilities in thought processes like the inevitability that automation Ai and Robotics will take 99.999% of jobs in the economy and lower human value to near zero so given this end result of the product we can figure out that we must make some action to fix this problem otherwise the entire consumer Market dries up and all the corporations go out of business because there's no consumers to buy products in the consumer Market... I think this creates better thinkers than people who are not rooted in the inevitabilities and embracing them as part of their model if you're not calculating in the inevitabilities and the end game then you'll never be good at chess because ultimately the best chest Masters learn the end game and the end game is the definitions of words... in a language-based system it all ends at the definition of the words. Those are the built-in inevitabilities and if one operates that correctly they will have the best ability to portray their logic to others verbally.

Thank you for doing this about Dan Dennet. I absolutely loved his approach to philosophy. I considered him a living philosopher, which is so rare. Even though he was an atheist he was a deeply spiritual man- as he appreciated art and beauty- but he never broke with reason which I found to be inspiring.

To presume that a form of philosophy is a waste of life, is to presume that one knows what a valuable, or worthwhile, life is. Some people may say that sculpting is a waste of precious time in life. I remember hearing once from a person who worked with hospice, that she learned that different people enjoy different things, and one can't decide what would be enjoyable, or meaningful for someone else at the end of their life. She said she had a man who thoroughly enjoyed eating chocolate ice cream and watching television. To her that was wasting the last precious moments of life, but to him, it was doing his favorite things, And it made him happy.

As a biologist, I care a lot about the questions he says biologists don't care about, and I don't think I am the only one. Of course, we usually don't try to answer these questions a priori, but through the study of real living beings. Sometimes we speculate, though, and there's nothing wrong with that,. I don't think good philosophers are very different. Caring about precise definitions can be very helpful, if you really want to understand the "phenomena".

Wanting to define everything all the time reminds me of all those discussions about free will. Discussions about free will seem to have the opposite problem: Often they lack a proper definition, and people mistake voluntary choice with free will, because that is what is meant with free will in justice and psychology ... 🤔 Of course you can take this further and ask: What is will? Or: What is Freedom? 😅 The other extreme is not defining anything and everyone talking past each other ... ?🙃

We are all idiots and don’t really know anything ! Haven’t you realized this fact yet ! So it doesn’t really matter who you talk to you see ! We all have the ideas, opinions , of what should and what shouldn’t be but again in reality we know nothing the only thing we think we know is , that we know everything , but again we just don’t really learn anything it just goes round and round , and that’s all we got we have never really been anywhere , and we are we are going no where it’s just what is and that’s it from birth to death that’s all there is !!!surprise !👍😀

I've said this soo many times in many debate and theist channels, that we don't need to define terns because you will never finish argueing about the first term or second term and the entire time will be over, so no time will be spent on the actual arguments. almost all the time was wasted on defining terms

An average human life is about 80 years, or 29,000 days. Your heart beats about 100,000 times in one day and about 35 million times in a year. During an average lifetime, the human heart will beat more than 2.5 billions times. The human brain's probable processing power is around 100 teraflops, roughly 100 trillion calculations per second and uses only 20 watt of power. Our brain produces around 0.3 kilowatt hours (kWh) per day for an average adult. And it’s equivalent to 260 calories or 1,088 kilojoules (kJ) a day (an average adult’s total energy intake is around 8,700 kJ a day)

@@dontfollowthinkforyourself You're trying way too hard and it's cringe, lol. You're clearly a typical KZbin dilettante who's done no research of their own, and has absolutely no academic accomplishments to be proud of. Hence, your random insertion of 'facts' that you've googled, along with a gibberish, incomprehensible assertion that anyone responding to you must somehow be 'effected' by your words. Describing (in broken English) biological processes of the brain while reading does not in any way at all give your silly copy/paste jobs any relevance. The fact that no one cares is evidenced by no other responses in over two weeks, and the sole, solitary and sad thumbs up on the comment being from your own hand, haha. Maybe try discussing the topic of the video next time, and in your own words.
