@dianeross45224 ай бұрын
Yes he is. His entendres game is unmatched. Both lyrical and visual. The pushups ended on the count of 17 which is Drake's age limit and Kdot won 17 Grammys. the hopscotch dance right at the A minor verse. The shipping crates= trafficking but also shipping back to Canada. The red and blue outfits of the dancers represents unity in Cali. They even have the gang type scarfs on as a belt with the red & blue tied together in a knot. The video is 5:55 long. Drake wore triple 5s on his shirt through out his kid show Degrassi. It just goes on and on.

I've been noticing that there's a divide in who thinks that is what he's saying. Those of us who grew up in and around the heart of Los Angeles tend to agree about the Amber Alert theory, everyone else thinks we're reaching. My husband and I both independently came to the same conclusion of Amber Alert despite an age gap and technically falling into separate generations (12 years, he's GenX and I'm a Millennial). Throughout this whole beef/rap battle there have been some really random things that have stood out to each of us that have meant the same thing. The most bizarre example was the very very end of Childish Gambino's song Yoshinoya that says "you've never heard of Chaka Khan?" I grew up listening to her music in the ghetto thrift stores but it would be a massive giveaway that someone is most definitely "not like us" like a middle class Canadian child actor like Drake... And being a child actor wouldn't be an excuse because I was one too lol. It's just that things like that can't be faked. I'm sure there's an arsenal of things he experienced in his childhood that would be confusing to both my husband and I, but it comes down to being true to yourself. Anyways TLDR: my husband and I agree it's to draw attention to Amber Alerts and I'm happy to hear out anyone who disagrees but the "lamps" as the second part of the word is not valid to me. I feel like that's hinting to us having to be home when the lamps outside came on and if we didn't then they might have to put out an Amber Alert to find us.

Kendrick is the KING of triple entendre. He didn't merely mispronounce ambulance, he was again referencing 3 things, the third you may have missed is amber lamps. There was an epic bus fight in Oakland where an old "bearded" white man got beat down by a black man. Camron wrote a hip hop song about it called Bring da Amber lamps. Amber lamps (amber lights) also mean proceed with caution, and also Amber is the name of the alert for abducted or missing minors. The unknown white female adding flame to the fight was also given the name "Amber Lamps" and became the subject and title of a song by a different artist. Leave it up to a Pulitzer prize winner to create the greatest diss track of all times I wouldn't expect any less....Props to No Vasleine, but you don't need Vaseline for cerebral penetration, which this diss track certainly achieved. The beat, the way he did not waste any words, the cultural references and easter eggs., this was a masterpiece and will not be soon surpassed, if ever. I wouldn't be surprised if new nuggets are still being revealed a year after this has dropped.

I can’t pick. Greatest dis of all time will either be No Vaseline, Hit ‘Em Up or Not Like Us, depending on what mood I’m in when you ask. Nothing has ever been as “big” as Not Like Us … this goes down in the history books with the best immediate. Instant classic.

Obviously not but it definitely happened to drake but the point is imagine how you would feel you enjoying yourself and everyone flips and starts saying Kendrick dropped putting pressure on you to watch the video or respond and all you choose to do is sip your drink and think this lil dude is playing games with your ass

I always dig you two reacting to songs and videos. I appreciate your appreciation of Kendrick’s powerful gathering of various sets on the pop out concert stage and getting them together for this video shoot. Yes this is the greatest diss record ever. I’ve heard them all. From Kool Moe Dee to Busy Bee, From Boogie Down Productions to MC Shan, to that whole Roxanne Roxanne era. (OMG!!) to Ice Cube to NWA, LL Cool J to Kool Moe Dee, Canibus, & Ice T, Pac to Biggie, Jay Z to Nas, 50 Cent to Ja Rule. This is the greatest diss track ever. The double entendre and trying to figure out each bar. “No Vaseline” was great. The problem was Ice Cube as the writer for NWA. They couldn’t respond. He wrote their rhymes. Think about this…. other than “How You Like Me Now” by Kool Moe Dee and Party Up (Up In Here) by DMX. There really hasn’t been any CLUB BANGAS diss tracks. Oh yeah and “Wanksta”. Drake needs to let this one go and accept the “L”. I don’t woo e his ego will allow him to accept this “lyrical azz whoopin”. There are so many subliminal and direct jabs at Drake. The cool this was how Kendrick shared his platform with DJ Mustard at this level. That intro track sample sounds like “the bass line from “When I Hear Music” by Debbie Deb. That track is a HOT TRACK. The coolest thing was Whitney (Kendrick’s Queen) B-Walking in an old school house with a ceiling fan. (He a fan he a fan he a fan). Glad you noticed that plastic runner, and plastic wrapped couch, the wooden spoon and fork on the wall. This music video is a MASTERPIECE. If you watch it again you will see so many things that you initially missed. This video was perfectly written, edited, and executed. Ai all appreciate you cell phone ringtone at 6:28. THAT’S DC GO GO That’s the Godfather Of Go Go Chuck Brown ringtone. Chuck is the one who gave me the name GOGO GODSON (RIP POPS) go to my other page and check out my song “RIDE THE FUNKY GO GO HORSE WIT ME” Drake may be facing criminal charges in the near future for all the things Kendrick has said and has stood on in quite a few songs. pay attention I enjoy your Father and Son Bond. #UNBREAKABLE 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾 Great reaction video!!

This was a cultural revolution! King Kendrick solely and certainly slayed the invaders! Smooth! Hard too..but smooth. The tactics of Kendrick's team were deadly! All that AND the lyrics..! The beats, cadence and more makes this one the best!

My brother, you are 100% correct. This was Drake’s Eulogy x 3. No Vaseline & Hit’em up reigned at their times. They created a standard for lyrical put downs etc. But did they have transcendental content? Kendrick surpassed and created a higher level of cleverness with pristine wit. Additionally his lyrics/beat, video & performance are the KEl’rs🙌🏻

I'm an adopted asian and even my white grandparents had the plastic on the couch with the plastic runners. THOSE SPIKES BLED MY FEET! AND I loved the debate. No Vasaline was my era as well (49yr old), No Like Us is almost a different type of Diss song. Same with Pharell's new one. They are redefining what rap music can be used for. This is why K Dot is different. Pioneers change the game.

“No Vaseline”is an amazing song, one of my favorites I grew up listening to that song and it’s one of those hip hop songs that are timeless. your dad is right though “they not like us” is revolutionary in so many ways. He united gang members, people from all walks of life and all around the world… Hip hop culture needed this, true rapping (the double and triple entendres, flow switches, the rhyming etc) hasn’t been the same for a long time. There’s only a couple of OG’s that have continued to do it. Kendrick is one of the best lyricists of all time he’s about to be up there with Eminem, AND ITS AWESOME!
