Louis was really close to his mum. He’s the oldest out of her 7 children. She was there for One Direction, we saw her a lot as fans and she was in touch with fans on twitter all the time. When 1D went on hiatus Louis didn’t think going solo was for him but his mum encouraged him to give it a shot, so he did. He was scheduled to perform on X Factor UK in Dec 2016 (almost exactly 1 year after 1D’s last performance on the same stage) with his first solo song Just Hold On. Sadly his mum never got to see it as she died 3 days before the performance. We all thought he’d cancel but he didn’t. He went up on the stage and dedicated the song to her. Two of us is the first single he released (March 2019) from his album. I love the song. How he describes the feeling of loss. It’s sad but also have this strenght of not giving up. Him and his family were struggling though. Grief is hard. Sadly one of his little sisters died shortly after this song was released. It’s really tragic. 😔 Thank You for reacting to the song. Louis also did another thing with this song. He did a little mini story with ’Two of us Richard’s bucket list’. It’s exactly what the title says. It’s very sweet and heart warming. It gives a glimpse of who Louis is as a person. Louis did a lot of charity with his mum and in the end of the video it asks for donations related to Louis and Richard.

Jay passed right after 1d era, at the start of their hiatus. She was 43. Am happy she got to cradle her grandson Freddy before her passing....thank God. In 1d he was known as the 'momma's boy' as he's known to call her everyday. R.I.P Jay🙁🙁🙁

His mom died because of Leukemia and yeah it's a really sad song 'cause his story is very very sad.He was going Through many bad things. He lived alone with his mother before his little sisters born without his dad who left them alone when he was just a baby. This man is a very son of his mother.He loved her so so much and Always talks about her when he was in the band.Sad thing about this was one of his little sisters died too few days after he realised this song ...Anyway Love your reaction and wait for the suite.

his dad left when he was little, so he was like the "man of the house" to his 6 younger sisters. Then his mother died of leukemia when he was in his early 20s so he was the mom and dad of the house. Then when him and his sisters were just finally moving on with their mother's death, his little sister died suddenly of a drug overdose. Very sad all around.

Yeah. He made her his business partner in his charity works as well and they'd attend together. On 1d 10th anniversary, Anne, Harry's mum , posted a montage of pics with her and Jay.....honouring her memory and reminding Louis he'll always have a mom (she) for support. Nice lady.

Yeah this song always makes me tear up. I didn’t know his mom personally but she was always around back in the 1D days and she used to talk to fans a lot of twitter. Everyone also knows that Louis was the closest to his mom, he was known as momma’s boy and he was very proud of it (as he should, Jay is a wonderful human being) She had 7 children, with Louis being the eldest. But for a long time it was just her and Louis before she remarried, that’s why Louis said in one of the lyrics “we’ll end just like we started, just you and me and no one else” cause it really was just them against the world at the beginning. They’re best friends, always always used to talk on the phone everyday even when Louis was busy with tour and interviews and all that. Goshhh I remember how much he used to talk about her and how much he loves her and how much they talk, I wouldn’t wish the pain of losing a mother on anyone, especially not him. He’s so strong, so effing strong. He’s so positive and hopeful despite the tragedies he went through, including losing one of his sisters after his mom’s passing. He’s always there for everyone, his siblings adore him just like he adores them. They always mention how they talk to him everyday and go to him for advice. Gosh he’s so strong and sweet. God bless him and his whole family.

His mother was able to see all of Louis's time in 1D. She died a couple days before his first ever solo performance on the x-factor finale. He performed a song,"Just Hold On". She knew about the song and was looking forward to him performing it, but never got to. She told him to make sure he continued on and go solo, she made him promise.

Thanks por this reaction! Louis is a great writer and he managed to incorporate into a song all the feelings that go through a duel. Although it is a sad song, it is also hopeful and that is what I like the most. It talks about making the person who has left this world proud and not giving up even when such horrible things happen. This song helped me in very difficult times and I will always be grateful to Louis for being so brave and encouraging himself to show his feelings to the world through this song. He is an example to follow for many and that is why he has fans who love and protect him so much. Amazing reaction. The saddest thing is that him and his mum were alone, because louis father left them (his mum was just 18 when she had him) so she raised him alone. That’s what the line “we ended like we started, just you and me and no one else“. Because he is the oldest of 7 siblings he thought that he would die first and „be (alone)“ with his mum until the rest of the family joined.
