While my Father didn't laugh much about the skits he did teach me to "Look Listen and Learn ". He discussed with his peers...brothers, WW2 buddies and older men in business and saw exactly what the Smothers Brothers were saying was the truth. Respect 🙏

It wasn't the use of the words "water closet" that got Jack Paar censored. It was a story where a water closet was humorously confused with a wayside chapel. Just as with David Steinberg, the idea of possibly offending religious groups was what made the network censors react.
