Actually in Reaper you can just drop Ripchord to the same track as your instrument, just before the instrument. Reaper has MIDI-trough functionality, so, this setup will work.

please consider putting alphabets on the KEYS! and getting it to automatically recognize and name chordz and also ability to trigger based on scales. this is such a powerful plugin, the ability to easily name and skip between presets is so dope. i use it for the strumming and randomization but i just wish it just had these things that make things much easier

Incredible plugin, however after awhile those presets we make and import stack into a wall of scrolling text, outside of whatever is starred in our favorites tab. A way to somehow place all the presets in a folder or colapse into categories would be fire! 🙏

Holy chord progressions Batman!!! Amazing stuff & a beautifully thought out design too! dunno how i missed this but I'll be reviewing it and helping to spread the word tomorrow. I started also trying it with the MIDI FX Freeze plugin to capture the output generated MIDI chord notes but then discovered Ripchord has a capture MIDI output function built in!! so you can then go in and tweak the resulting chords in piano edit to add passing notes or edit notes to get what you hear in your head etc while Ripchord does the heavy lifting for you, absolutely superb!! Also the import midi file thing is fantastic, i easily found hundreds of classic & jazz etc progression online in minutes and they imported a treat. Top banana!! 👍

Would be great to be able to determine how many notes in a chord are played in strum mode seperatly between forwards and reversed . for instance when strum mode is reversed limit it to the first 2 or 3 notes. Would be great for guitar VST's

This is a super program for one fingered keyboard players such as myself. A great future feature would be a way of loading in custom chord sets during a performance. For example, if you were playing to backing tracks in Ableton, Ripchord would load the appropriate chords (by a midi command?) as the play head got to the next song in the gig list. Don’t know if this would be possible but it would be a killer feature!

This is already killer, but, if you could time the strum to note values synced to the tempo you are using in your daw and program finger picking patterns or banjo rolls that are triggered by one key and make the pattern repeat as long as the key is depressed, oh my! That would also allow you to play a chord over and over just holding the key down and in time with the song tempo. You could have a button that alternates between a straight feel with the chords or a shuffle or swing feel. That would take this thing to a whole new level. Don't get me wrong, what you have here is beautiful so far. Will be very interesting to see where you take it from here. Thank you by the way.

For reaper I put ripchord in the midi FX panel of the said instrument. That ways I can hear the chords and while midi recording the notes/chord information is captured.

What would be awesome is to be able to set a different strum and velocity to each chord. The best would be to even have control on the velocity of each notes of the chord (rather than LTR/RTL, or the hasardous humanise). I would happily pay 10-15€ for this feature.

Thanks for your free software, realy usefull. But some options missing, like the possibilitie to record our chords playing it with a keyboard, earing the note when you move it from a key to another, delete multiple files in presets. That would be great in a futur update

Want to say another thing becose im using it right now and something are anoying is when i use the transpose function i like a lot but when i want to hide the transposition option the presets turn back to the original position, the transposition function take a lot of space for keyz when you got a lot of chords

Ripchord for horn band parts on GigPerformer is amazing. I've inputed the notes for Diggin' on James Brown (tower of power) intro. Swam instruments (5) make sounds awesome. But how do I the play parts where I only use 3 horns or 1 horn on a note? All 5 horns keep playing even when I haven't assigned a note/key?

Trackbout and FL Studio folks, the magic can be had with FL plugins using Patcher and Midi redirect. I'm not sure if it is better to have it in the Channel rack or Mixer. I think Mixer because I haven't figured out how to change Patcher settings from Channel rack after the window is closed.

@@trackbout I have since discovered that Patcher has two versions: an effects and an instrument version. You want to use the instrument one on the Channel Rack. You can also right-click on the channel rack, and burn the MIDI to a new pattern.

Does ripchord work with MPC beats or MPC 2.0 which is the software for Akai MPC? I have literally gotten this to work on every daw for some reason it does not work on MPC beats. Have you guys figured out of work around yet?

That would require Ableton changing its routing architecture, not something we can control.

I'm unable to get it to work in FL Studio 20, despite my best efforts. I've followed the guide from start to finish on fl studio, replacing dragging the vst to the track with anything i could think of, but I don't get any sound at all out of it. I would love to use it, as it looks like it'd be great help for someone without much music theory knowledge, but i've ran out of ideas that could work.

You have to ask Native Instruments to support VST3 MIDI I/O. They just added basic VST3 support with v2.16, but they have not added support for VST3 MIDI I/O yet, so MIDI FX cannot send and receive MIDI events yet.

@@danielmasajada6075 it sounds like you did not move the Ripchord.vst3 file correctly. Instead of "pasting" it, just open the Mac finder and drag the Ripchord.vst3 file from the downloaded folder into the Mac VST3 folder. You can see a picture of what it will look like if you do it correctly on the trackbout.com/ripchord page under the Mac Installation section.
