Now, off-grid rotations. Things no longer rotate by clear 90°, no no no. They rotate at 1° per game tick, for as long as you hold R. The only mercy you get is Shift+R reversing the direction of rotation.

So the reason for the issue with pumps connecting to trains is because in vanilla a train has to be very closely aligned with the tile grid for a pump to connect. Most people aren't going to notice this because normally the only way to see it happen is with manually driven trains with fluid wagons.

Fun fact for abnormal people: If you’re doing a diagonal base, this means you’re probably better off using barrels in cargo wagons. (It’s been a while since I touched that save, and I’m glad, but it means I’m not entirely sure on this. I also *think* you can’t put stations on diagonal rails, but I don’t know for sure.)

It looks like the crash happens because underground gets placed... So have you tried not putting undergrounds in your inventory, waiting for bots to build everything else, then manually delete the blueprinted underground and then manually placing it down? This mod should add fluid overflow. If a building or a pump tries to put fluid into a full pipe, it just leaks on the ground, losing the fluid.
