SuperFruit is "Scott Hoying" and "Mitch Grassi" from Pentatonix, back in the day when they shared an apartment in their down time they formed their own side group from Pentatonix called SuperFruit and it was Amazing. Those 2 have been friends and singing together since they were 10 yrs old, clearly destined to be doing this, because when you put their voices together you get pure Magic. You really need to check out some of the SuperFruit catalogue, you will not be disappointed, i.e. the Beyonce, Empire, Lady GaGa Medleys, Guy.exe, The Promise, Goodbye from Lonely, etc. Their funnier ones are The Frozen Medley where Kirstie from PTX joins in and the Wicked cover, those are more laid back but the singing is still off the chain. You've come across Brian of course, he's amazing, he came from America's Got Talent, Mario used to work for Pentatonix on stage crew and that's how he got his start. Scott and Mario do a duet to "Lost On You" backed by a Hans Zimmer track that is ridiculous. So much great stuff that you can find out of these 4 people. This project was put together following the Pulse night club shooting in Orlando. All the singers identify in the LGBTQ+ community. All their voices, separate and together, are so powerful and the song is song as a tribute to those who were slain and those who survived. Chills!

I didn't realize that it was put together after the Pulse shooting. That makes it even more powerful. I just know it is one of my faves that i listed to at least once a month.

I don't think people outside the LGBTQ community realize how much Pulse affected us. At one point I just held onto my husband and bawled. A close friend of ours, who was at our wedding the day after it was legalized in our county, lost two friends. Almost eight years later, just talking about Pulse can reduce me to tears. And I know I'm not the only one who had flashbacks with Club Q.

You're 100% correct - that is Mitch. The first singer was Scott, also from Pentatonix. Superfruit was a sideproject the two of them had together roughly from 2013-2019. They vlogged and also put out some music as a duo - both covers and an entire album of amazing original songs.

All these singers are a part of the LGBTQ+ community and they put out this cover as a response to the Pulse nightclub shooting. Mary Lambert is most known for a collaboration with Mackelmore. It was her song he used in One Love and subsequently she was featured on it. Mario José isn't very well known... he was actually a part of Pentatonix's road crew for many years, though he also graduated from Berkeley School of Music. Mot PTX fans know of him mostly from an appearance in their behind the scenes vlogs where, for his birthday, they surprised him with a spot as one of their opening acts at one tour date. He's also done some collabs with just Scott.

I live north of Orlando and remember the Pulse Massacre all too well. They are all LGBTQ and this was an incredible tribute that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. IT's staggering.

The first singer is Scott Hoying, of Pentatonix and SuperFruit; the second singer is Mitch Grassi, also of PTX and SuperFruit. SuperFruit put out a weekly vlog for years, covering things they didn't want cluttering up Pentatonix's official channel. Their final episode was "The Promise," guest starring Adam Rippon, on February 14, 2019. I don't expect them to get back together; they both have other projects now. However, all those old SuperFruit videos are still there, and most of them are incredibly funny ("Rise" is the exception). Many of them involved guests who would play games with them, or sing, or do interviews. They'd sometimes answer fan questions or play silly games. In one episode they explained gay slang to Mitch's dad (brave man). And then there are the really funny episodes. FROZEN Medley, featuring Kirstie Maldonado. 99 Ways to Ditch Your Date. Defying Gravity. GUY.EXE. And the list goes on; I haven't seen all of them by any means. As a general rule, if it's on SuperFruit and it's funny, stick around after the obvious end; there is frequently a blooper reel to watch.

There really is so much talent in this song! Mary Lambert is featured on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Same Love." The chorus is the same as her song "She keeps Me Warm." I just love her voice.

Since most have already comented on the reason for this tribute/cover existing, I will just say Katy's words are powerful.....this group of unicorns putting their annointed vocals & arrangement on it is absolutely incomparable. Superfruit (Scott & Mitch) have a bunch to check out, just pick one lol! You know Brian's talent already! Mary I will be honest I only know via her work with Macklemore but her voice gave me chills in this so maybe we should both check her out lol! As for Mario, he is a BEAST! I suggest his duet with Scott called Lost On You. Its a cover of LP's song, over a Hans Zimmer piece composed called Time, from the movie Inception. Jaw dropping. Also check out Mario's cover of Have You Ever by Brandy. He & 2 gentleman named Vincint & Matt. I was yelling at my screen at them harmonies 😂😂
