Last Saturday someone tried to recreate the horror of the Pulse massacre at Club Q in Colorado Springs. 😢 Fortunately, this time we "only" lost 5, because this time there was a hero present who ran *toward* the gunman rather than away, and actually managed to take him down. I found out about Club Q just before attending the Pentatonix concert in Denver on Sunday. Scott spoke about it at the concert, about how a queer nightclub is intended to be a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families, friends, and allies. And about how on Saturday night that safe place was suddenly *not* safe. We had a moment of silence in honor of the 5 and their loved ones, and Pentatonix pledged a large amount of money to help the survivors and families. And on Monday I found myself compulsively watching reactions to *this* performance. It is now the wee hours of Thursday morning, Thanksgiving Day, and I'm still at it. It's looking like a bleek Thanksgiving this year, but this song helps. It's *so* powerful, and empowering, and it's going on my permanent playlist. 🌈

I remember that day too. The utter helplessness, the overwhelming pain...I cried a lot. I used to live only a few blocks from there but didn't know any of the victims. Still, it felt like being gay-bashed all over again.

I do like this, but always felt (if you pay attention) it becomes obvious that none of them (other than possibly Scott and Mitch) are actually singing (or shooting the video) in the same time and place. And this was pre-pandemic.
