I can’t be the only one who feels like Jamie might be a descendant of Jack’s sister. Think about it! Out of all humans in the world, Jack was always naturally drawn to this one kid. Spending so much time around him that he automatically knew Jamie was the last remaining light of believers. Jack and his sister had dark brown hair, just like Jamie. And just like Jack’s sister, Jamie didn’t hesitate to openly admit to being scared to Jack. The parallels align perfectly!

I love this movie and I always will. It's amazing and it made me feel things that no other movie ever has.

Jack is the one who suffered the most in this movie he spent 300 years of his life in isolation. Unseen, unheard by anyone, no real friends or family just him he was alone for centuries . And the man in the moon never told him who he was and what happened to him.

Can't lie, I've always been curious as to what wouldve happened if Pitch had actually done his job, instead of trying to take over. He's an Entity, which means he was chosen by the Moon at some point. And it would make sense to have someone give Fear to kids, to help them understand the joy of good things. But Pitch became corrupted by how much power he gained in the Dark Ages, and decided to take over. But like, what wouldve happened if he never became corrupted?? Could him and Jack done amazing things? I need to know!!

Right?? There’s so many things that could’ve changed if fear had stayed a tool for protection. But if you wanna learn more about Pitch and everyone I HIGHLY recommend reading the book series! It clears up a lot of things about why Pitch is the way he is and sheds a bit of a sad light on who he’s become at the point of the movie!

We didn't have cell phones or cell phone apps when I was a kid. We got up early to listen to the radio announcements. They were read for whole listening area, in alphabetical order, over and over. We kept listening when our part of the list came up, hoping to hear our school called out.

Also, at 9:55, SEE! The Easter bunny tells Pitch he "Belongs" under beds. If Jack can find his center and his place, why can't Pitch? If you actually pay attention, Pitch either IS, or WAS a guardian too once. But then the moon moved on to Santa and the others, leaving Pitch behind. FOR THE RECORD, I do love this film. I just think there's a literal other side to this film, and it's sad.

That laugh of incredulous joy after having spent hundreds of years being unnoticed, where you can hear the anxiety fall away and having to almost hold back tears is nothing short of amazing voice work from Chris Pine. I grew up in the 80s before apps were a thing. My home town used an old air raid siren system to alert us about snow days at 6:30 in the morning, and a phone call around an hour later. At some point close to 1990, they started a delayed opening system where they would sound the alarms at 6:30, and then you would wait for a second one around 8? I think? It's been 30 years since I needed to know this... And if you didn't hear that second siren you had to go into school at 9:30 instead of 7.

"The better Elsa"? That's a tough call; depends on what you want in an Elsa. She's def more powerful, but they each have slightly different move sets. On the one hand, Jack can fly, create a little bit of ice and frost when it's already winter, sculptures of frost and snow that can briefly animate, and literally make people happy (in a totally non-toxic and not-creepy way). On the other hand, Elsa can create a whole friggin winter wonderland on command, a whole-ass ice castle complete with lighting/furniture/decor, actual life forms made of snow that live indefinitely, facsimiles of past events molded by any lingering water residue, and can transmute existing clothes that she's currently wearing and redesign them into an ice-motifed ensemble which flows like it's made of silk (wait wtf?)!

The weather channel could predict snow and we would get a snow day and 75% of the time we didn’t get any snow but I live in a rural area where the back roads don’t get plowed or brined with salt like the city roads would so they were just being overly cautious and prepared for bad weather- in the early 2000’s we got an ice storm that cancelled school the week before Christmas break so we got an extra long break that year and the high schoolers didn’t have to do their midterm exams until after Christmas break. Now the back roads get plowed but I absolutely hate it because I have to take the shovel and dig myself out of the driveway.

I've never even seen snow outside of a screen of a TV or cellphone, my childhood holidays was based on beach days (it's summer and Christmas at the same time, imagine that) and the winter is filled with rainy days and carrot cake with melted chocolate on top :) not bad at all

This may sound weird, but I always felt really bad for Pitch in this film. I may be misunderstanding things here, but from what I can tell, when you become a "Spirit", Your personality, shapes what you draw strength from. And herein lies the problem. "PITCH" seems as if if enjoyed the dark while he was alive. Thrived on spookiness & Shadows. A classic, "Everyday is Halloween" type of person. But then a long come Christmas, Easter, sweet dreams, and indelicate fantasy. They're great, and they banish away the darkness. So he's left powerless, just like Jack in his beginning. The difference is, Jack just likes fun. While Pitch feels the same. The problem, is that Pitch's "Draw" is from the mysteries of the dark, danger & thrills. In order for Pitch to have any semblance at all, he has no choice but to rain darkness down on everyone. You can ACTUALLY SEE THIS IN THE FILM!! In the first scene where he truly fights with Jack, what they create inspires Pitch ! He looks at it like a sculpture almost. Until, Jack points out, that it would be Pitch Black everywhere. AMD THAT, is the problem. All the Holidays are good. What they bring is good too. But there's something to be said about darkness too. Without it, light doesn't shine. Period. When Pitch is finally defeated, he says, "You can't just kill me!" Which honestly, would be an ACTUAL MERCY. No. Instead he gets to be imprisoned down in the dark for all eternity again, being hounded by his own nightmares. His own failure. THIS IS JUST, MY OPINION!!!! BUT, I think Pitch has changed. I think he would LOOOOVVVEE to be a guardian. But his draw is from the dark. So now he's screwed. If he was TRULY EVIL, the nightmares wouldn't have turned on him in the end. Sadly, I feel this is a great metaphor for life. Sure, Christmas & Easter are great. But I love Halloween best of all ! And when the other Holidays show up, Halloween just gets left behind. Take Hallmark for example, they show Christmas films ALL YEAR long. They now openly state, that October 31st, is the beginning to the countdown to Christmas. This film would be better in my opinion, if Pitch got to stay around. Maybe not "God Level Pitch" But still able to interact with people. The one kid even says it. "I DO BELIEVE IN YOU. I'M JUST NOT SCARED OF YOU." Okay perfect. Then let Pitch exist, like a challenge, but not as a overwhelming nightmare for the world. This whole movie from Pitch's point of view, is like a Heavy Metal singer coming out of retirement. He gets the band going, just like the old days. But he's not enjoying it like he used too. He's relishing having POWER again. Not crippling everyone else. Admittedly, he does mock the guardians. But even this feels to me like, "Now you see how it feels !!" I don't know. I could be wrong, but to me it feels like Pitch planted his flag in what was popular at the time, but now, just wants to keep playing. And everyone has to banish him. There can be no harmony basically. Does anyone else feel this way? Just curious.

Apparently Jamie is a descendant of Jack, being a many times great grandson of Jack's little sister. They even have the same face.

This Santa Claus started the trend of badass Santa Claus's in media because followed this was Mel Gibson's fat man, then violent nights, now Redone and I think there was a couple of others I don't remember but this one started it all

10:32 its not the holidays that vanish, its the figure associated with them Christmas may still be celebrated, but if no child believes in santa then he won't exist also a key detail people seem to be missing, Sandman & Pitch Black both use sand-like powers...but there's a key difference, Sandman's sand is not as compressed and more free-flowing while Pitch Black's is very compressed and solid
