This film was by far the most emotional of the franchise especially learning on Po's backstory and past and how Po learns to not fight it but let it flow to find Inner Peace, especially when he faces off against Shen the 2nd time. Also Lord Shen was an awesome villain and voiced none other than Gary Oldman.

This is a really unique reaction. I don't think I can name another instance where someone says they've seen the movie before, and instead of acting like they're seeing it for the first time when they're not, they instead look for details to point out that show how much they love it. It brings a much more valuable experience by not only giving a great movie more attention, but recognition for their hard work in that it paid off. 10/10, wholesome, please do more!!!

17:56 I love this conversation between Tigress and Po even more because if you haven't seen the Secrets of the Furious Five, Tigress' backstory is that she was an orphan who had a lot of anger and abandonment issues, and on top of that she was the only carnivore in her orphanage so everyone was scared of her as a young child. But then Shifu trained her to master he own strength and temper, and ended up adopting her. This was shortly after Tai Lung was incarcerated, so she worked really hard to please Shifu (even if he was never the same after Tai Lung) and became a Kung Fu master along with the other members of the Five. My point is, that Tigress knows what it feels like to have a parent growing up but feeling disconnected, and she knows what it feels like to be an adopted child. Because I was adopted as a baby and raised by a single parent like Po, (although I've known about it since I can remember), I love that both Po and Tigress get this kind of representation and talk about it on-screen. It's nothing to be ashamed of and it's a really great part of their stories. Where they came from wasn't conducive to who they are now, and if their home environment didn't change they wouldn't be who they are today. The same goes for me.

Shen isn't as intimidating as Tai Lung, but he's definitely more evil. I think Shen was more dangerous for Po in the sense of the psychological and emotional damage he's done to Po. Nearly killing all the pandas, that marks him as the most evil villain of the three films.
@vishal96863 жыл бұрын
I like how PO didn't have a grudge against Shen who was responsible for his Mom's death. He wasn't selfish, but looked at the bigger picture that Shen must be stopped or else it's the end of Kung fu. Unlike Iron Man in civil war, where he went on to kill Bucky for killing his Mom without even thinking about situation.

@cringekiller348 Жыл бұрын
That's a pathetic comparison. Ironman s best friend lied to him , betrayed him and didn't even apologize and straight up nearly killed him. Imagine tigress lying to po about killing his mother, you think po would act rationally? Hell no he wouldn't!
@qkumber94412 жыл бұрын
Something I rly like about the Kung fu panda movies is they don’t try to put unnecessary relationships in there. Po and Tigress can have their heart to heart and even hug but they don’t force it to be anything more than a genuinely good friendship. Even in the 3rd movie, they have a seductive lady panda toy with him a bit. Bit it’s just healthy flirting and doesn’t go any further. It’s too easy for Disney sequels to be like “this is the movie where they find love” but we all know what Po is about and I love that they did things right

One thing I feel is unappreciated is Mr Ping, and I love how much integral he is to his son conflict in this sequel. The first one actually has a minor theme going for him, despite all that kung fu and all, he was pretty much right in everything he said, he told Po indirectly that he had THE dream which would signify it was his time to fulfill his destiny, Po's self stem issues also include him being insecure about his cooking which is actually fantastic but he feels like he doesn't compare to his dad and his secret ingredient, but in actuality he never had one to begin with, it was just his dad's cooking that was the best Po ever had, and he didn't need an ingredient, or more specifically, he didn't need the power of the scroll to become a great in kung fu. Is something that was shown very low key amidst the main plot but Po's dad was pretty much crucial to his development, and I can say in this movie that sort of thing is more on the spotlight, and I love the message it gives.

I first watched Kung Fu Panda 2 10 years ago when it came out in theaters with my sister, just like I did with the first one. I was twelve years old so I didn’t really care about the depth aspects of the movie, I was just there for humour and funny scenes. Time went on and I progressively forgot about major parts of the movie itself, so when in 2016 it was played on TV I decided to watch it again - turns out then I was also busy so I didn’t quite actually have a full experience and lost track of the movie. Again, my memories of the film were scattered and vague. I decided to watch it AGAIN for two days ago. Third’s time is the charm, and my sister went aboard. …Speechless. Utterly speechless. This movie is undoubtedly a masterpiece, one of the greatest movies ever made under the name of DreamWorks Animation. The way it combines the fun part, the character development of the main protagonist, dark and kinda scary flashbacks, incredible music, marvelous fight scenes and a super villain like Shen. The part in which Po finds his inner peace, the sequence with all the Furious Five (+ Master Rhino and Croc) and Po all by himself using fireballs against Shen following Shifu’s teaching are astonishing.

Httyd, especially "Test Flight," is grand and epic, and elevates anything it goes with. KFP, on the other hand, you can tell is specifically to each and every moment in the story. The "Musician Village Fight" accentuates this!

The fact Shen accepted his fate for his actions, and also someone did theorized(just personal believe, if you dont believe its fine since its not our agreement 🙂) Shen was mistreated from the peoples in the gongmen village, all of the animals did not care and hate him for his color that resembles death and pride, he was broken and sickly in childhood so thats why he looks like he has black eyes or eye bugs, the soothesayer or the old goat was actually Shen's old nanny, thats why even if she's silly and joker, he still respects her and he sees her as the old joker that made him smile in childhood, but he now he wont cause he is completely not happy of the feeling of defeat, and after that, Shen grew unhealty and misguided that he felt he treated hate from his parents since they won't care from his condition of getting bullied from the village, and as he grew, his only happiness is lone time with doing fireworks, but end up dangerous, he did still had kindness left as he says "set the soothsayer free as if shes not used to me." In the part where they were in the boat, as that was actually the last time they will meet with his nanny, after he died he accepted his fate, no one comforted him before he died since the soothsayer cant help but exit his chaos, as he ends, plotwist he became a good guy in afterlife.. 😢

27:27 I’m very glad you brought this up because it made me sort of have another theory as to why Shen still chose to attack Po at the very end!!! When Po told Shen “You gotta let go of the stuff from the past..” I think that really triggered Shen because Shen said the exact same thing so obviously he believed that he DID let go and moved on (when sadly he didn’t learn to take care of his wounds and scars). For the longest time, Shen has been in a whirlpool of confusion, doubt, and denial. He even mentions that he will take away his happiness, showing that he is deeply hurt and knows what atrocities he has committed. So on the one hand, he’s triggered at Po for saying something that makes him question about his wrong mindset, and he’s also frustrated with himself for being so wrong about everything in his entire life 😱 Bestest awesomest movie ever

30:53 The part of Hans Zimmer’s music for this scene, the flashback to the 1st movie & Po realizes who he is. So freaking good. An infinity out of 10 the best💯👍😁

I mean now you have to do a commentary on Kung Fu Panda 3 and complete the trilogy haha
