Why are you using IDE in VM? You can use IDE, SATA (as AHCI), SCSI and VirtIO I usually use AHCI in anything non - Linux or too old for Virtio I use IDE only when there is no support for VirtIO and no support for AHCI

Hi I have x 3650 m3 server , the server can't communicate with the IMM , when I power on it shows imm kernel loading , then running , imm initialization timeout , and finally uefi initialization and then it reboot s again . It keeps on rebooting for a while and then it randomly boots to bios . But I am unable to access Imm through bios either . It says can't communicate . I did power cycle and changed cmos and imm jumper setting but the power light keeps on blinking nonstop when jumper is changed to 23 . There are no warning lights either. Will a firmware upgrade do the trick ? Meanwhile the management port shows activity light.

Hi Art of Server IBM was a bit quick to jump to 2.5" so both the x3650 M2 and x3650 M3 was only 2.5" but then the x3650 M4 came in a version with 6*3.5" and a model "IBM x3650 M4 BD" with 12*3.5" and it is also available in the x3650 M5. Thank you for watching! :-)
