I’ve suffered a life of social anxiety, these lyrics made a lot of sense to me when I relayed them to myself. I grew suicidal when overwhelmed with the feeling of a lifetime of just being the “awkward” kid to everyone. “Don’t make this awkward” is something I’ve heard too many times from others and myself, to the point where I grew comfort in this awkwardness. “show me how to doubt myself, who knows where I’ll be without you?” It makes me so happy to hear Tilian say this. DGD is always pretty introspective in that they refuse to take themselves too seriously and often make fun of themselves in their lyrics or just screw around injecting nonsense (jon mess AHEM) but this is a whole new level.
