Lil Peeps legacy was really being taken advantage of posthumously, when the label dropped Come Over When You’re Sober pt 2. The label had completely redid the samples and came out as more pop for the mainstream which really didn’t reflect Peeps sound from SoundCloud or even the Part 1 album. Songs like Sex with my Ex, 16 Lines, Leaning, Cry Alone that he, himself, would tease in ig lives and posts throughout 2016 and 2017 were changed by the label. However thankfully his mom Liza would redrop the part 2 album with all of the original samples and audios that the fans should have gotten from the beginning

I remember being into X when he wasn't as prominent of an artist and seeing his rise to fame. He really didn't deserve to die so young. Even though he was a very misled young man in his youth those experiences led him to become (or at least try to be) a better person. Peep was and is the best (in these listed and of the generation imo) so it’s so overwhelmingly comforting to know he wasn’t done wrong afterwards. The only issue with his was the management owning everything and changing it to try to sell, COWYS PT.2 was so disappointing when it dropped in 2018. But now that his family owns it all they’ve literally been THE Perfect example of what every team and family should do when an artist passes. They’re doing literally everything right and it makes me happy to know in 20+ years kids are gonna find him and his music the way he wanted it. skins is now loved by most fans and it was almost complete according to john x's producer, everything the team did under empire was something they had to do due to x signing a 10 mil contract they had to drop bvf that was all x recorded for it theres not much more and the original versions of all the songs prove it was all mostly hooks they had to add the features to complete most songs. theres no excuse for promoting ikabod or the nfts and cleo is still super sensitive about x and doesnt even properly take care of his music because of it

here’s some info on skins by xxxtentacion: the album was roughly 95% complete by the time of his passing, and that album was actually the last project he curated in his lifetime. he also mentioned it was for his core fanbase, or maybe that was BVF. he also mentioned that the album wouldn’t be that long. its only like 2 minutes shorter then 17 im not sure why people hate on skins. that’s the closest thing we would have to what he would’ve released later on. that was one of the most important posthumous releases put out by his team. the kanye feature was also really good, X really liked kanye so the feature makes sense to me. that’s also the only feature on the album. the songs that weren’t complete were BAD!, whoa needed a feature but didn’t have one. the juice wrld remix exists tho, STARING AT THE SKY, One Minute obviously wasn’t complete. other then that the album was basically complete. the tracklist was also the original tracklist Jah had left behind on his computer. i also heard the introduction to the album was recorded by him but he switched it last minute to the robotic voice software. not sure why. maybe he knew the end was near
