What if the industry is trying to feel out where the line is for fans. Celebs are sick of being mobbed, if it was me I’d want to know the line for being cancelled just incase i made enough money and wanted an exit strategy. How you treat your fans should depend on what kind of creator you are. Musicians have a rather large disconnect between them and the fans. But some fans or stans, blow that into an obsession. I am sure Doja cat has n9 issye with the casual audience who buys her music. But people who turn up to her hotel, comb her twitter for old tweets, criticise her while claiming to love her. They are projecting what they want her to be onto her. And that's toxic, of course she will hate that. But some creators like streamers the relationship is the product. They create a parasocial relationship for views, rather than it being a byproduct of their content creation. Creators like that owe their audience everything.

I am not a Carti fan, but to be fair to him, we don't know what is going on behind closed doors with his music. The fact that he said at that show "I'm TRYIN to drop in 60 days" should speak volumes. It isn't up to the artist. Sometimes the label will tell them no because they don't want the artist's record competing with another of their artist's records. And these feature pulls? That is weird, but it could be a manager or something is trying to hold other artists hostage for more money after the feature has been recorded or something. He may have some bad people circling him in the business.
