What an incredibly irritating word "woke" has become. I already hated Americanisms such as, "off of" meaning "off", and "anyways" instead of "anyway". But "woke" grates the most, because it's been high jacked by right wing political manipulators, as a dog whistle, to rally mindless, mean spirited a-holes, to their cause. And their cause is a reluctance to acknowledge the civil rights of anyone outside their very narrow minded world view.

The very fact his wife had to introduce him shows how weak Sunak is. He’d a grown man and it’s like his mum taking a child to the first day of school. His speech is a testament to how delusional and how out of touch the Tory party has become. He talks about the last 30’s years of which Tory’s have been in government the majority of the time, and has the audacity to ask for more time to make change. He set forth less than a year ago five priorities, he says they are the people’s priorities (don’t remember being asked) and by any measurement is at best struggling if not failing to deliver. A failed Chancellor who presided over COVID corruption, fined for his part in Partygate, an unelected Prime Minister. What the people want is a GENERAL ELECTION not more time for Tory’s to destroy the NHS, remove people’s rights, raise taxes even higher, have a low growth poorer country and have a Home Secretary who’s a bigot.

Basically, jam tomorrow but never today is Tory speak for just kick the can up the road and hope conditions work in our favour along the way. We're not going to create those conditions, they can create themselves and hopefully for the better, not the worst which is happening now, but the Tories continue kicking the can while doing nothing.

I was writing a story set in 1970 and I wanted my characters to go from Liverpool to Grimsby. I looked at the rail maps and you know what? It was best to go to London and then go north. It hasn't changed.

This is true. I recently looked at travelling from Newcastle to Kettering. Going via Leeds would take five plus hours and require four changes. The quickest way was to go to London and travel north again.

It has been experience most Tories become party members and MPs for person gain, not to help others, they may want to help other Tories on the understanding they get something in return , it is all about gain. The little people , us, are there to create their wealth, so it is important to keep us hungry so that we are always willing to be there to create the wealth for them. Fairness does not come into it.

Rishi Sunak is taking the British people for complete fools. It just isn’t credible for him to distance himself from the Tory governments that came before him. He was the Chancellor for two years. He held roles in successive governments for five. We just can't let him get away with this desperate posturing. To turn the page on this chaos, the country needs the election of a Labour government committed to ending the Tory decline and rebuilding Britain.

Divide communities. Become reliant on the state. State dictates conditions or withdraws financial support. You become desperate and steal food. Go to prison, and you become a stat of how the tories are fighting crime. The tories will create a state of broken poor people who have no future and become reliant on the government. Actual psychopaths.

That's if this what was it? £35.6bn gets to these other projects when some are calling for yet another tax break? I want to see that list he rambled on about today become locked in actual contracts that are hard to break out of first before I nod on improvements for other lines in the UK that have been waiting for 20 or more years now. Such as being electrified.

The hardest thing in the world is to be self critical, hes hopelessly out of his depth , inept, corrupt, incompetent, and no one voted for him, including his own party, and yet he plods on making disastrous mistakes, he really needs to look in the mirror and call a general election, to at least try and get someone who knows what they are doing, but his arrogance prevents it, the band plays on after the iceberg collision as the waves lap at their feet, its actually tragic
