Great description on sharp edges and how they disrupt the boundary layer of flow creating more turbulence and collecting heat!

Your videos are a great overview of the processes that you guys employ. I especially like how you explain the topic. Would love to see some content around Honda H and F series engines/cylinder heads.

These videos are just awesome. Is a smooth(almost shiney) suface finish always desired for a boosted setup in die combustion chambers?
@headgames8 ай бұрын
thanks for the kind words and watching! Almost shiny is really never a desired surface finish. 80 grit at most on the intake, 120 on the exhaust and chamber. Any more than that is just a waste of time and potentially hurts it.

Do you have to freeze the valve guides before install ? Also what lubricants do you use when installing them....great vids btw, learnt so much from you guys
@headgames9 ай бұрын
We do freeze the guides! We use press fit lube from Goodson to install them. Thanks for watching!

On the D25 heads, in the combustion chamber, removing the material around the valves(there’s a lip) will it improve flow? And have you done a before and after test.
@headgames8 ай бұрын
Improves low lift flow and reduces detonation. Great question! After 500whp it really helps.

How much would i be looking at for an identical set of heads? Dual avcs. Full cnc + hand finished port. Gsc s2 cams and appropriate springs for 9krpm. Oem size valves whatever you recommend. + shipping to New Zealand

Are the fins meant to have a blunt edge? … but it’s still quite a fine edge just not sharp right?
@headgames8 ай бұрын
We blunt them, not a fine edge afterwards.

@headgames Dave would using a 5073 spring kit be enough and reliable for 550+ on a s1? Or 5076?
@headgames5 ай бұрын
We use the 5076 for 500-700whp so you have more cushion for the pushing. Check out our power pak 2 for that power. Helpful hints helping you with valvetrain selection. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0725/1676/3953/files/001-Subaru_EJ-Powerpak2.pdf?v=1697043901
