@@scoreunder It's not just about attack speed. Proc coefficient is also super important (to which Commando has one of the best proc coefficients on both his M1 and his R). BTW proc coefficient is (unfortunately) a hidden stat for all attacks in the game that determines whether an attack procs on hit effects or not. For example: with 10 Tri-Tip Daggers, the Commando procs bleed on every attack he throws because of the attack's proc coefficient of 1.0. On the contrary, a proc coefficient of .85 will mean even though there's a *technical* 100% chance to proc bleed, it gets reduced because of proc coefficient. This applies to *any* amount of percentages, as well, so something that doesn't scale the chance of proccing per item means that someone will a low proc coefficient will use it somewhat ineffectively. Fuck I've played this game too much.

The one thing about rogue like that make them really addicting especially for risk of rain 2, is the power you feel after putting some time into that run. After like the 4th round in a ror2 run you already feel like taking over the planet and going even further the universe isn't so far away. The movement on top of that godlike feeling every good roguelik game gives you feels amazing. My favorite risk of rain build is using mul-t and having both primary weapons as the rebar puncher, and reloading between them, add a few crowbars and glasses to it and you can pull off several thousand damage in a single shot that can go across the map with no bullet drop

Rogue legacy 1 is my favorite roguelite. I could never get into binding of isaac dead cells or gungeon but rogue legacy’s permanent progress over the course of all your runs combined with an phenomenal movement system and funny dialog and prefixes are great

My favourite thing about the game would easily be the wide cast of characters you unlock as you play. commando is basically the tutorial character being the first and only character you start with, his abilities are simple but get the job done. Artifacer is all about managing ability cooldowns being the only character to have a charge based primary attack (aka it has 4 shots that recharge over time) so they aren't as consistent as other characters but your abilities pack a punch to make up for that. Merc is pure melee (unless you take his alternate special ability) so you need to be careful about how you time abilities and always be aware of your surroundings cus a merc caught off guard is a dead one. Loader is weird. Best way I can describe it is that loader relies on their charge punch to rocket through enemies as a human missile and the faster you can move the stronger the punch will be, so build up velocity and smack something in the face. REX is a risk/reward character that uses their health to fuel certain abilities to justify them being so strong at base, and is the only character that can heal themselves without items. Definite a harder to play character but is hella fun once you get the hang of it. MUL-T is simply a robot that can switch between two different weapons and has four weapons to choose from: the nail gun is a rapid-fire hose but is inaccurate, the rebar puncher needs to "reload" after each shot but has very long range and is super accurate, the saw blade is for meme purposes and the scrap launcher (much like artificers primary) has limited charges but packs a decent explosive punch. Engie does more but moves less due to his turrets having very long cooldowns, the crazy thing is that your turrets *gain all of your items* with one exception being "summon" items like the queens gland (permanently summons a beetle guard to fight with you) and has the best area denial out of all the characters, but he does feel very campy and dependant on the turrets sometimes so if that's not your cup of preferred beverage then maybe try someone else. Acrid is a hybrid in melee and range that specialises in doing damage over time with poison, although right now acrid is only really good with teams, and due to a lack of me not playing him much a cant describe him as much as the other characters. Huntress is very mobile and locks onto enemies so you can focus more on moving, she can teleport using blink and her main/secondary attacks lock onto enemies so you can focus on moving. Definitely more of a "move or die" character. And captain is a mix of utility and burst damage, using a shotgun arm that can focus its spread into a mid-range slug shot and has a drone that deletes incoming projectiles based on your attack speed, and being the captain obviously means he has a spaceship that can fire orbital strikes in 3 round bursts as well as deploy various support beacons (basically you have healing, shocking, recharge your equipment item and unlock all chests/shops in the radius for free.) whenever the captain call for it.
