brings back lots of good memories of growing up in Palo Alto in the 80s I have a 1997 Swiss cross frame Number 601 that I still ride on a regular basis almost 30 years later one of my favorite bikes

I have a Tom Ritchey road logic #424. Fillet Brazed. Very light, love the ride. I paid $18 years ago at a garage sale for it. Wasn’t sure what a “Ritchey” was at that time. I knew by looking at it, it was a special bike. I thought at first it was an aluminum frame, it is so light. STEEL IS REAL!

Hi Fergus: Thanks for taking us down memory lane giving the history of the frames. Tom is a living legend in the bike world. So awesome he is still steering the ship and did not sell out like so many others who help make mounting biking what it is today.

I had a Ritchey 650b frame in the 80s. I got it from Cupertino Bike Shop. That bike shop was owned by Finley Scott. Finley had some old frames that were made by Tom and he dropped them off one day for the shop to sell. Bill Bryant and Carter were running the shop,at that time. The frames were bare metal and I had to get it painted myself. It was not easy to get the 650b stuff back then. I rode it for about a year, and then sold it. George Carbo was also working at the shop and he bought one too. The frame was springy and quite comfortable to ride.

LOVE the Commando! GOD I wanted one so badly. There was the Commando that sat on the floor at Pac Bikes. Why, oh why didn't I work extra hours and pick one up at employee discount?!!!!!! Nice shout out to Rick at D&D. My camo mountain bike was painted at D&D, but by another local builder...

I love bike nerding. I prefer rigid over suspension bikes any day. I turned my trek in to a rigid. It is so much faster and agile. But I do ride other trails. So I have a wheel set with tires and the suspension fork ready to go when I go mtbing. One bike many ways to build it.👍

I have a 1991 KHS Montana Comp (the pink elephant) in my garage, I heard that some of those may have been Ritchey made frames? Any truth to that, or just BS? (It's got the Ritchey Logic tubing sticker and the american flag Ritchey sticker on the right side)
