Terraria Calamity Let's Play - Death Mode Mage class Terraria Playthrough with the Calamity Mod. I am doing a Terraria Calamity Death Mode mage class playthrough. In this episode of our Terraria Calamity Magnus the Mage Playthrough we defeat the Polterghast and Providence the Profaned Goddess in the hallowed biome. We also got several mage weapon upgrades to improve our Calamity mage class loadout / setup. One of the weapons we crafted was the Last Prism which upgrades to the Dark Spark. Magnus' friends were captured and put into the corrupt nether realm by Supreme Calamitas. Now Magnus must find a way to save the Terraria NPCs!

Terraria Calamity Mod:
The Calamity Mod is a large content mod for Terraria which adds many hours of endgame content and dozens of enemies and bosses dispersed throughout the vanilla game's progression. The Calamity Mod also features several harder difficulty modes, five new biomes and new structures, a new class, a new leveling mechanic, and more than thirty new songs (Calamity offical soundtrack). This terraria playthrough is using the Calamity mod version 1.4.4 (calamity acid rain event / old duke update).
I have been inspired to create Terraria content on KZbin and play Terraria again in 2020 from PewDiePie playing Terraria, Leviathan, ChippyGaming/ChippysCouch, and HappyDays. I also have got back into building after being so inspired by the terraria building videos that Khaios has created. The will be more terraria building videos to come! This Terraria Lets Play is going to be a Death Mode mage class playthrough which will be good practice for Terraria 1.4 Journey's End Master Mode which will be released on May 16, 2020! I am playing Terraria 1.3.5 with tModLoader.

Let me give you some tips for Old Duke: - His dashes are calculated towards your velocity. So, if you try outrunning him, his dashes will home on you. Standing still for a while works wonders. - He has really high defense and damage reduction. But every 10 attacks, he gets tired and stands in one place for a while. He loses his defensive stats during this state, so keep your Rage and Adrenaline for that state. Old Duke occasionally is huffing while tired, pay attention to that noise. - His next phase is like Fishron's 3rd phase. He is also invincible for a short time as he transitions and also resets his pattern. During this phase, he also stands still for 10 seconds after attacking, then he redos his pattern. Hope this will help.

Magnus seems to be doing a pretty good job recently. I have a few tips for old duke though: -Unlike duke fishron, he predicts where you will be when he dashes instead of where you are (kinda like brimstone elemental's ray attack), so you need to time your dashes right. The jelly bean mount is also good for this too. -Not only he summons the sharknadoes, the old duke also summons teeth projectiles that follows you kinda like the aquatic scourge does. Like that same boss he also leaves damaging gas behind that lingers for a few seconds before dissapearing, so watch where you move. -Beware of the portals he summons. Those portals suck you in when you are close to them, limiting your movement and leaving you vulnerable to both his dashes and the projectiles he summons. -Count how many dashes the old duke does. He has a mechanic where every certain ammount of dashes he gets tired (he is old after all), stops moving and his defense drops to 0. Use this to your advantage to deal massive ammounts of damage. Weapons that deal a lot of damage to standing enemies work extremely well during this "tired" moment.

I see Magnus is on a power trip. It's like Catastrophes before the Calamities and Stained, Brutal Calamity "Grief" were written just for him. Will he save his friends as intended, or will his newfound power corrupt him and leave them stranded? Side note: I can't wait to see an Eternity/Dance of Light/Apotheosis boss rush.

Last time I played Calamity, DoG was absolutely obliterated by the Phantasmal Fury, so even if you fight The Old Duke, I recommend leaving the Phantsmal Fury until after you defeat Devourer Also the series is pretty chill to watch for a death mode run, fun to watch the lore progress as a bonus as well

For your next Calamity playthrough (probably after Diana), could you for a change try and defeat Old Duke with the intended gear and armor (Post-Poltergeist). I understand if you believe it's too diffucult for you and many people have the same reaction to it as well. If you are willing to, an extremely useful tip for Old Duke is to make an arena with about 5 platforms about 70-85 blocks apart. The Sulphur Sea 'biome' goes pretty much into space from the border until about 250 blocks away from the border. Hope this helps in the future. P.S. There have been multiple updates to Calamity since you last played, which included a huge amount of boss AI changes. I'll try and tell you each change before you fight that boss if it has one. Love the channel so far. Look forward to more exciting vids in the future.

hey ritto, i believe you’ll have the ingredients next episode to make this weapon but the “Face Melter” is an amazing weapon to have honestly. it works as a spewing out notes and treble clefs but it doubles as a summon (also magic damage) to shoot out even more projectiles. try it out if you ever get the chance, it’s honestly work it !

Oh wow, you're doing pretty well! The Eidolic Wail is sort of a "Meh" weapon due to its slow-moving attack and kinda high damage Keep that weapon until you beat Yharon's Second Phase, and you'll be able to craft the Hadopelagic Echo, which is a broken weapon since its attacks are way faster, ignores enemy's immunity frames and inflicts Ichor, Electrified, Cursed Inferno and Crush Depth debuffs

I think clamor noctus does the highest single-target dps out of all the new weapons from this video, it’s much harder to land hits though so i mostly just used the shadowbeam one and bloodflare

If you want to mine faster just reroll your mickaxe to miniature. Just reducea knockback and dmg And size a bit and gives you 54% faster speed if i recall correctly.
