Our tale begins in Babbling burrow, On the Western coast of Helasia, at the inlet where the River Bryl meets the Ocean, lies a small town that straddles the boundaries of the Sudgarian Empire and The Baranton Plains, simply known as the Babbling Burrow. It gets its name because it is built at the shore where a river meets the sea which means the constant sound of the waves is mixed with that of rushing water (which most folk refer to as the town's "babble"). It is a small port town that hosts merchant ships that come from Mayrine and other continents but being a small town at the edge of two feuding empires, it has become a hive for smugglers that want to bring contraband into the continent. If something needs hiding, sweeping under the rug or otherwise concealing from the prying eyes of the law in the rest of Helasia, Babbling Burrow has you covered (For a price of course). With the slightly shady nature of this lovely town comes it wonderful patronage. Even in broad daylight, the people tend to walk around with a dagger in their boot as finding oneself dead in a ditch is a common occurrence in the Burrow.

Finally got the time to watch this! (spoilers, sort of) . . . Were-puddles... I had this flash of someone asking "Do those even exist?", and Vedant be like "Well they do NOW..." Were the slime creatures a kind of were-puddle? (Being able to shrink down the avatars of the oozes was cool.) Which leads me to wonder, given his power over water, could Hecil exert control over a creature that is liquid based? Or dehydrate it? Or can they be flooded and diluted into oblivion? ...So Ophelia was jumping the acid puddles, and doing acrobatics, all with a magical (dragon?) egg on her back? Perhaps some magical property of the egg, sensing that it was briefly in free-fall (when she jumped) made itself (and perhaps even her) lighter. That would explain that one really good roll. Good thing the egg did not get exposed to the acid or moss. After they get Mason's stuff back (I HOPE they get Mason's stuff back, as he is carrying most of the wealth of the team!), they will have to double check the (known) contents of the drawer. That might lead to them setting up some kind of hidden treasury at their keep, or some other way of not keeping all their wealth in the drawer. I suppose the doppelganger might not have really been carrying the drawer, but an illusion, or fake copy of it, though that would have been a risk. It might also serve to remind them that they really need to find out what else is in the drawer, and where those rooms are. Speaking of opening things, I hope Hecil is careful where he chooses to try to have his skeletons+Manabus open that chest, what with the pile of skeletons and all. I wonder if the crescent moon on the lock looks like the shadow-one on the wall? That might be related to the lock-code. Of course, the rods in the moss might also have been related. Heh, even if the chest turns out to be empty, it would be a handy trap to add to any treasury they put together at the keep... Hide the chest, but not quite as well as the hidden treasury, and let it take out would-be thieves. I can see them coming back from some adventure, and checking on their treasury, and the chest, to find several new skeletons to add to Hecil's collection. Just in case anyone managed to get into the keep and the chest, the only contents could be a note explaining that this was just a really handy way for their necromancer to get new bodies and skeletons, without moral problems sourcing them. They would even quietly and secretly deliver themselves! Of course I also hope they get Mason back! But I am assuming that is a given at some point. If they find Mason, and catch up with the doppelganger, we may see a darker side of both Mason, and Hecil than we are used to. I can't imagine either of them taking kindly to someone having invaded Mason's mind and stolen his identity, and this may mess with Ophelia as well. (Even without emotion or a soul, Mason knows a lot about Hecil, and Hecil would not want someone else running around knowing all that, purely out of self defense.) Not to mention it made them look really bad in the eyes of the other faction. But while they would have tried to save the dwarf, given the completeness of the kill, and that none of them are a full cleric, he likely had better chances with the fast teleport back to what one assumes to be his home base. They will have trouble from the report given by that centurion eventually though. Unless in finding Mason, they also find the missing mage that came with the centurion. If they find and rescue him, he might be able to give an explanation clearing them somewhat. Loved the Amilie cameos, of course! Glad she got entertainment out of the session as well, with the mouse-pointer. As always, I look forward to the next session. This should be interesting! I just hope we don't have to wait quite as long this time (and that the real-world trials and tribulations give you a break for a while).
