Just like Cathy said, I had this pie as a kid My mom didn't bake it, but my best friend's mom did One day in his kitchen, eating Ritz with some Coke When this mock apple pie, his mom said was no joke She said that she'd made it, once or twice times before And just 'cause she liked me, said she'd make it once more Just a day or two later, there sat this fake apple pie She had recently baked, and a slice there to try It tasted like apples, at least more or less And I liked it quite well, I just had to confess Which brings us to Cathy, glad that she liked it too It just goes to show you, what is old can be new A recording malfunction, was a bad stroke of luck When she realized too late, I bet she screamed #%!#@, &%$*#, and @#!%^!! One day I might bake one, like my best friend's mom did To remind me of great times, that filled my life as a kid

You're fun to watch, I had a memory of my youth today I looked up Ritz/Mock Apple pie and have been watching KZbin videos. There are several like yours where the cook never heard of them, made a pie and were, like you, pleasantly surprised by the outcome. You however were far more convincing by the simple fact you kept enjoying pie the slice. Not just a bite and a declaration of how good it was, but you sold it with the 2nd, 3rd and more bites - I believe you really liked it

Hi Cathy, oh my gosh.... why did I never hear of this?! I spend all that time peeling and slicing apples and could have done this! I love Granny Smith apples, but on a lazy craving day this would probably work fine. I also love crumb pie topping and the crackers are a interesting twist which will be fun to try. I won’t be going to the store for probably another few weeks or longer, but when I do game on! My mom makes wonderful homemade pie crust/crumb topping apple pies and I want her and my hubby to try this without knowing the secret ingredient. Not sure if you’ve ever tried them, but Pepperidge Farm makes a apple pie turnover that’s yummy. Sometimes when I get a craving for apple pie I get those. I like them warm out of the oven. This was fun, thx so much for sharing!😊 Can’t answer the question of the day without more details tho!
