Unpopular opinion, I actually liked this film growing up. Not as much as the first two, but I enjoyed it. Also that cop wasn't the dad from Malcolm In The Middle, his name is Neil Flynn he was The Janitor on Scrubs and Mike Heck on The Middle.

Also Alex does something that a psychopath named Kevin never considered: when you see a crime being committed you call 911, like what all children a taught from day one. Kevin only considered calling 911 after he had sufficiently maimed two people.

The one thing this movie has that the first two are lacking, is that this kid ACTUALLY gets credit for his work. I think it's a solid follow up., even if it's not quite as sadistic as the first two, ha.

Honestly, this is my favorite out the franchise, but that's mainly because I remember it the most. While it was out before I was born like the first two, this one, I had watched way more as a kid. So, it was the one I grew up with.

Personally I think some people don't like this version is because, 1. Alex actually does the right thing: I see a crime being committed so I'll call 911... twice. So Alex only sets traps as last resort and not because he has a hunger for chaos. 2. His traps aren't as sadistic as Kevin's. "What no one took a blow torch to the head, or a nail to the foot? This isn't a real Home Alone movie." 3. The family doesn't completely suck and the parents aren't incompetent. Kevin's family deems him the trouble maker, yet no one noticed he wasn't there... twice. After the first time I would make sure that my kid was at least on the plane. Alex's mom only left him alone because she didn't have a choice and she went out of her way to make sure he was taken care of and was always in contact with him. Sure it's not as good as the first two, but I think it holds up, and definitely better than anything that comes after.

I totally agree plus i think that the trap set up time was more realistic than in the first 2 Home Alone. He spent most of the night and a few hours after his mom left to set up vs Kevin who managed to get such elaborate traps set up in an hour or 2 depending on the movie.

Marv had a reason to touch the sink, while the other guy had no reason to sit in the chair. Not saying that Alex's traps aren't bad 'cause they are, but Kevin's traps are more methodical and devious.

I've always used to watch the first 3 growing up religiously every year and sometimes the 4th one if I was bored cause it's really quite bad but at a younger age it was alright. The first 2, of course, can't ever compare to the later ones but honestly, I don't know if the 3rd one deserves as much hate. I always liked it and didn't think it was too bad of a film.

i LOVE this one!! it's my favorite of the first 3 (i haven't seen the others) because its the first one i saw i think the first 2 are better but this one is emotionally my favorite i love how alex is just a sick kid stuck at home, and he actually saves the older person (where kevin was saved by both of the older people - the old man and the bird lady)

For all that it rips alot of the jokes from the first 2, i think it still stands up and find it hilarious. I love watching it on repeat even if the criminals go from mastermind to bumbling criminal as the film goes on. Its a cheesy laugh that stands alone from the originals with the characters and plot but still captures some of the essence from them. Thank you soooo much for reacting to this movie, ive been waiting to see an honest reaction for a while from anyone.

Home Alone 1 and 2 have a special place in everyone's heart but I feel 3 was the most realistic of the 3. He called the authorities, his monther wasn't a bad mom just one that had a job and had to leave and the villans started out very scary actually.

The parrot in the movie (a Yellow Front Amazon, it looks like) has most of its dialogues provided by an outside source. I say most because while most parrots CAN talk, they can't actually hold full conversations like the one in the movie can. They're not stupid though, they can actually formulate a reply if they know the word to reply with. A good example would be our familys African Grey Parrot, Riko. He saw someone on TV crying, and he said ''Aww, whats wrong?'''. The bugger has also taught himself my name, so sometimes he'll call me, then when I respond, he'll call me a bad word. He's an asshole parrot but I love him. xD

I personally don't think this movie's as bad as everyone says. I love how the villains are far more intimidating than Harry and Marv. Also, I find it interesting that despite them being international, more dangerous criminals, they seem to lose all their intelligence when actually trying to break into the house

The funniest traps for me were Unger and Jernigan getting electrocuted, Beaupre getting sprayed in the eyes, Jernigan getting run over by a mower then falling two stories down, and Unger and Jernigan struggling to get out of the pool. What made Unger and Jernigan's trap scenes funnier is when they screamed like Homer Simpson and Carlton Banks. One last thing: Unger skating across the hallway and apparently crashing into a cat then going down the stairs only to get his hand snapped was the funniest scene ever. In my head, he's saying every letter in the alphabet as he goes down like this: First, one per every step: A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W-X… Then as he goes towards the washer: Y…!!!!!!! And finally he gets his hand snapped: Z!!!!!!!!!!!! @17:40-@17:46 on a side note, it's hard to believe that's Scarlett Johansson. Molly oughta respect her elders, but you can tell how Scarlett becomes Black Widow. @19:19 Freeze? They're already frozen.

That never happens. When police are called to a burglary in progress with suspects possibly still on scene, they don't roll up with full sirens and lights. they want to try to catch the suspects while they're there.

home alone 3 honestly so good, I never saw it as a 3rd home alone, it always just seemed like a separate movie that has the same concept in a sense but honestly this one is so interesting how they go into multiple houses & the car watching them is so neat, I think people's first judgment is "well that's not the Kevin we know & love" & "all the actors are different & it's not the same" yeah if you're comparing it's not the same it's really it's own, they just copied the names & him being home alone, but then this movie might've not gotten noticed without the name so I'm thankful they did cause I still watch this movie

Plus, if you really think about it. Kevin had two idiots who just robbed houses for a living. But Alex took on 4 professional bad guys against one kid. I mean the plot was bigger the traps were bigger set ups plus I found it super funny, I found it really funny with the animals helping out. I loved this movie a lot because of the extra changes they made to it. Kevin had to defend the home, which is true, but his family was Absent minded and were always thinking about themselves, and on the other hand I like Alex's family yeah there's drama but they didn't forget him at home like a bad parents like Kevin's parents, Alex was making phone calls and everyone thought he was making it up, but otherwise the truth of the matter the family did love him, and he took on bad guys on his own, his traps were clever, I hate to say it but I think they did better on this one, and he did a good job, and Kevin his movies are funny. But this one has a special place in my childhood heart. This is my favorite Home alone of all time. out of the 3. and I have already written down why.

Feelings towards this movie are mixed but I think nearly everyone agrees that it's better than Home Alone 4 - at least it tries for some originality unlike number 4 that attempts to follow the original story except with fewer family members, different casting, worse jokes and the fact that they got Harry and Marv completely mixed up.
