Hey guyssss! How’s everyone doing?! Here’s a chill vlog of Yanagawa 🌿 I’d love to go back for the river cruise and unagi (eel) 🤤 I highly recommend you stopping by at Yanagawa if you’re spending a few days in Fukuoka 👍

Nice video. Now Japan is open, I'm going to be visiting Fukuoka in November, and this looks like a really nice place for a trip.

Your video of the cruise relaxed me. Thank you. Most of the unagi served in the US comes from China, so you're very lucky.

Most of the affordable unagi we get in Japan are from China as well hahah

Peaceful and relaxing. This river cruise looks fun!! I’ll bring a good hat if I do this on a sunny day 🤠. I tried unagi for the first time this year, and I love it. It’s sooo delicious. The Yanagawa style of preparing it sounds extra yummy!! The fluffy unagi dance was a vibe😆

Yes! A hat would be a very good idea for a sunny day like this! Oh I’m glad you liked unagi 🙌

OK, one thing is for sure. When I get to Japan, possibly Yanagawa, the first word to look for in the restaurant menus is 'unagi', my new favourite Japanese word. 😋 But something soft to sit on seems to be a good idea on the boat. Either that or standing up once in a while singing along.
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
Haha yes I like pronouncing unagi 😂 They may not want people to stand up on the boat so you might have to check that!

Awesome! Do you know the name of the music you played during the cruise, or did you just picked it randomly? It is so beautiful!

It was just a random track that I found online!

Another relaxing and delicious-looking video. One day I'll take the plunge to broaden my horizons and try unagi. I've never had a desire to eat eel (and I love almost all seafood), however it's time to try new things. I would want my first experience to be as close to perfect as your food looked like.

So glad for your wonderful vlog! So the punting boats are still operational! Can I go there and take the boat without prior reservation?
Have watched many of your videos, I like your style. I debated Yanagawa vs Dazaifu in my 3 days stay in Fukuoka. After watching this video, I am going to Yanagawa. Thanks. One question: Is Unagi different from Anagomeshi (conger eel) in Miyajima? In the US, we see unagi all the time but not much of the conger eel. The eel you enjoyed in this video, that was not anagomeshi, correct?
@TokyoFoodieSarah Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I’ve made a video on 6 things to do in Fukuoka and there I have some clips from Dazaifu too in case you want more info ☺️ Yes, Unagi (eel) is different from Anago (conger eel). The one you can get in Yanagawa is Unagi! In Japan Unagi is often more expensive than Anago 🥹

Thanks for translating some of the canal tour. It felt like we were there on the boat with you except not getting our butts sore 😂 I feel with the price of the unagi rice it’s a special treat meal had on rare occasions? My comparison for someone in the west is having a steak at a steakhouse.
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
Hahahah that’s great, it was only me who had to sacrifice my butt 😂 Yes! Unagi is considered to be a bit on the luxury side. I think a steakhouse in the west is somewhat similar 🥩
