I've fished steams like this and even smaller ones ,if you are prepared to climb over barbed wire , stinging nettles, and the risk of falling in because it's not clear where the bank ends ( I have) then you can catch some very impressive chub ,they have probably never been caught before and can be surprisingly big for such a small stream, although that stream is very likely to be deeper than it looks as I found when I fell in ,I'm 62 now so I don't do this type of fishing so much now as it pays to be quite nimble ,but can be well worth the effort,and odd sting

Nice one Russel, I couldn't agree more too - sometimes jungle warfare is needed to get to the best spots! Haha.

Good work guys. Excellent job of getting to that overgrown swim and I bet there was a good few mosquitos there too. (I keep a little bottle of insect repellent in my fishing bag) What a simple method with just the hook and the bait and sheer bliss to be fishing that river Wensum.

Cheers Mike, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment. Haha... I think that some insect repellent would be a great addition to the tackle bag! ;-)

I so very much love the Wesum and how it looks and feels. I just wish those whiskery friends were still plentiful. Have some good memories of Lenwade. Maybe one day it will be restored to its former glory. Although I guess before the Barbel it was how it is now.
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Graham, it is a lovely river! Such a shame about the Barbel... I'd be surprised if the river ever returned to how it was, but you never know I guess! Hope your fishing is going well.

From The Waters Edge TV I'm fishing just higher up on the free fishing side . Iv found a nice spot where I can see the chub and iv so far counted 6 and they are always there ! Iv hit one a month or so back which hit a good 5.5lb which wasn't bad for my first big chub 😊. I found when I caught it though that the fish were all quite confident away from the sides . Problem I have at the moment is I know where they are but where they are I cannot get in . They have been there for weeks in a thicket of over hanging branches and weeds from the bottom grown in . Any tips into getting them to pop out for the take mate ?

hi guys just another question can anyone fish where you guys fished if so where abouts where you and also where do I have to buy a ticket to fish there thanks guys keep up the good work
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV7 жыл бұрын
Yeah anyone can fish there Andrew, it's the piece of river at Billingford. I think it's around £8-10 per day and you can park by the river. (There's a bailiff on site who'll collect the ticket money.) Hope that helps.
