I saw this movie when I was a teenager in the late 80's and it had a profound effect on me. I still think it's one of the best movies ever made. Bonus points for the killer soundtrack as well!

Brilliant film! I was a teenager in the 1980's, so this film was iconic to me. We called dope "Feck Weed" for years after. For all of the over-the-top aspects of this film and story, it feels so real, so honest in its portrayal, not of teen indifference, but teen immature overwhelming bewilderment. "What should we do??!" "Uhh, I dunno...something, I s'pose." "But what??!" "I don't know..." The two girls wanted to report it, but couldn't handle making the phone call...too overwhelming, too daunting. Frightened, they bail on the idea.

Dude you gotta watch the gift another movie by Keanu where he plays the bad guy and it's a supernatural movie, I promise you won't regret it

Don’t have time to watch now but I CANT FUCKING WAIT to see what you think of this film!! I saw this, way back in the day, when it first came out and loved it- so weird, quirky and unique!! Have called Keanu my “boyfriend” since then! Crispin Glover was sooo annoying that it almost became endearing. Hopper was as crazy as always! Just a crazy, darkly beautiful and different kind of movie that I’d ever seen before!! Need to rewatch! Is it on Netflix? I can just picture Crispin w/ his hat in his ‘bug’ and my dreamy boyfriend in his tie-dye tee!!! See ya later tonight so we can agree or agree to disagree!! haha!🖤( unfortunately I can also picture dimwit ‘John’ and hear Crispin saying his name)

I guess we agree completely!! Yeah, of course I dig the review!! It just reinforces my thought that I need to rewatch this! I saw this when I was 17 yrs old, at the theatre and it twisted my mind badly. I just didn’t know what to think about all these kids actions. It was one of those films that when you leave from watching it, you think about it for days and days! It’s riveting. I’m going to rewatch it ASAP. I watched it like 2 more times when it came out on video (yes, I’m old) but loaned it to some people cuz I wanted to share the wealth, ya know? No one liked it. My friend I went to see it with didn’tlike it( hated it actually). I guess it was before my time. Were they all idiots or was this film ahead of its time??? I think the latter. I also you need to be a little bit older to fully ‘get it’ because it’s a complex film. Anyway, I’m sooo glad you liked, loved this film too-I was beginning to think something was wrong with me since I was the only one who liked it. I’m gonna go read the comments and see if anyone else saw n liked it!💜

I love it, but very overlooked. Tim Hunter also directed some episodes of Twin Peaks. If you liked this maybe try My Own Private Idaho.
