Catching quality bait is a commitment and a must. My grandkids and I have some cool city ponds they love to go to and catch sunfish and bullheads. Carp are a great bait in the fall. Kids and I also take dried bread and scatter bread crumbs and it'll get an area hopping fast. Great to see Ella again. You guys are going to make terrific parents some day. Keep your powder dry young man.

It still amazes me the effort you go through to catch fish. When we want to catch bait, we just fish around the docks at the lake for 20 minutes and then head out on the boat. Great video

Have you ever tried the white fat part of bacon for bait for bluegill and sunfish and chubs , it’s tough for them to get off the hook get multiple catches on it, all I used when I was catching a lot of bait, just thought you might want to try it, good luck looks like your wife liked catching bait to, that will help you with two people catching.👍

Where/how do you find these little spillways? I live near Iowa City and have a lot of trouble finding good bait so i end up traveling and baitfishing for a full day just to get ready for a night of catfishing.

Dude I am so jealous. You might keep trying to argue that the flathead fishing is NOT better where you live (I still disagree) but you cannot argue that your bait situation isn't better. I legally have to get all my bait from the water I want to use it in, as well as I cannot legally take live bait away from the water to save in a tank for later. It makes thing extremely difficult. Especially when trying to fish new spots or new water where I don't know all the good bait spots.

This may have been answered but I want to ask. At 4:20 ish you catch what you call a green sunfish, but I noticed the bright blue stripes on the head. I've caught a few rock bass. They have a similar body shape, but different coloration. Both are super aggressive. Really glad you enjoy the videos!

Then if you lose a fish to a log jam you may not get a fish for the night that’s why the sand bar is nice but it’s hard to find the perfect sand bar to get your bait way out in the deep end
