Some find it enjoyable to watch, others watch it to see how the plot is gonna be ripped into shreds. I love the flashback scene with the original characters playing their parents it pretty interesting I will say it is a little weird that Archie's mom was not in it but other than that I'm actually excited to know what the what the gargoyle King wants from Jughead I will admit some of the dialogue in season 3. Amarat they are from the same comic creators Sabrina literally shows up to riverdale in the comics does witchy things then leaves she’s been a staple of Archie comics since the 80’s. She has her own comics too. In the new Netflix series the chilling adventures of Sabrina they literally reference riverdale when the witches show up to scare the jocks Sabrina says the other witches are from another school to which the jock asks “where? Riverdale?”

Promising as a generic teen drama, I guess. It was never promising as an Archie adaptation, though. I could live with the joyless tone, but while the characters were at least consistent in season one, they never resembled those, whose names they're wearing. Why o why is almost every popular Hollywood show with twenty-something "teenagers" ridiculous hot garbage? I mean, other countries' TV has way worse (if any) special effects, but this aspect they tend to get right, so why can't the U.S. industry? And why did Archie/Riverdale of all things have to be among the worst offenders, to boot? The comics reboot just before was a picture-perfect template FFS!

It was paying homage since their parents went to highschool in the 80’s they put a lot of famous nostalgic references throughout the episode griffins and gargoyles is supposed to be dungeons and dragons. Even the principal for the midnight club was an original breakfast club member (Anthony Michael Hall/the nerd) and Archie’s mom is literally Molly Ringwald.
