Really enjoyed that, seeing a venue I know from my youth all the way up to leaving ‘the north’. I used to fish different sections, but really nice to see you have a good session on there and once again show how simple pike fishing can be with a roving approach. I wish I had more confidence to try it on the massive lochs up here on the odd trip I do, usually I end up bait fishing. Oh and ‘it’s not a sex toy….’ 😆 all the best.

Yeah matey thought you might like this one. I know what you mean about the big waters it can de hard work in the bank. Too tempting to just find a spot and wait it out but I guess that can be very productive sometimes also.

Went down the canal myself the other day. Had quite a few bites and lost a couple of fish. Only managed to catch one pike of 7lb and shame I didn’t catch any perch. Was nice to get back out after such a long time.. Back to work again now so don’t know when I will get back out again. Anyway your videos keep me entertained, and all the best buddy 👍👍😄😄🎣🎣

I think them stripeys are hiding but if anyone can find one, I’m sure you can. no problem buddy & It’s a pleasure as we all have people,, family and friends that at sometime go through certain things in life. Sometimes it’s not even a matter of getting older. It’s just that big man upstairs could be a bit more selective as there a lot of horrible nasty people out there he could have picked on but always takes it out on the good ones unfortunately.. I’m sure he will appreciate every little thing that you are doing to make an effort. It goes a long way but it really does. Yeah same Phil I have a larger one on a sea lure fishing set up I use and also one on another jack bashing rod. Not silly money and they look nice too

Cheers Adam. Nice to have a blast in an old haunt again. Sometimes you move on from a venue and forget about it so it was nice to go back and catch a few. Shame the cold weather has spoilt your fishing mate. You need to find that area where the bait fish have loved to for winter as that’s where the predators are now also. Yeah love the wildlife when I’m out. Kingfishers and kestrels always bring my a big smile when I’m out 😃

Titanium leader but you can use steel also. I had 18lb braid and 20lb titanium leader

What size rod reel combo you using here. Also why kind of leader. Is it a wire trace or fluorocarbon?

Hi matey. It’s a 7-21g rod with. 2500 size reel. 18lb braid with a 20lb titanium trace. It’s a bit of light fun so I’m kind of set up for maybe some perch and of course a few jack pike

@@riverpiker can’t beat catching pike on the light gear. I have a dam yagi rod and pike on that are a quality fight even the smaller ones.

Jim it was Cahira Nitinol wire in 12lb single strand. Can get it from the Riverpiker shop in various strains. I’ll try and remember to explain all my gear on future videos! 👍

Cheers matey just packed it up and will post out now. Yes I could do that but to be honest I don’t wish my channel to be just an advert for the shop if you know what I mean. I could do that and maybe retire on the profits and then just pike fish all day, launching my boat from the jetty in the edge of my log cabin in the middle of nowhere. Fish all day catching big pike and maybe musky, then retire to a nice warm fire…..hold on a minute that sounds ace, why don’t do that! 🤣🤣🤣
