It's the nature of being introverted; when a high-energy, overpowering presence like Kennedy confronts a calm guy like Rivers, it tends to make people like him shut down. It's a sort of self-defense mechanism. That's why Rivers is so talented, because he is able to be reclusive and channel all of his energy into music. I understand because I relate to people like that.

I've seen awkward interviews with him of the same nature where the interviewer came off as a complete tool (example: the "Rivah Weezah!" guy) but this is the only interview I know where he's completely quiet and you can't get more than 2 words out of him.
