RIVERS World Edit Tutorial Minecraft

Learn how to use world edit in order to create authentic rivers.
World Edit commands used in the video:
//brush sphere [material] [radius] Bind a sphere to a tool (e.g. pickaxe), right click will create a respective sphere at your cursor's position
//mask [material] Limit the effect of a brush (e.g. sphere) to a certain material
//gmask [material]
//tree tree Bind a tree generation to a tool (e.g. pickaxe), right click will grow a tree at the cursor's position

Hey Madnes, Thank you for the Video! I will know add a small river near to my town which then will float around my town so i can add a drawbridge. I would think it nice of you if you could build kind of a Arena like the Colusseum in Rome. I would like to add such a building to my town but my trys dont really fit to the style of my town, so you could maybe inspire me if you'd like. Komme übrigens auch aus Deutschland wollte es nur auf Englisch schreiben,damit jeder hier es versteht :D

@Madnes64 perhaps try using a brush that has less and less stone cobble etc and more grass as you get farther from the river then it will slowly transition into the normal land scape.

Madness nur eine kleine Anmerkung. Natürliche Flüsse sind nicht besonderst tief. Sie gehen vielmehr in die Breite. Damit ein natürlicher Fluss tief genug für den Schiffsverkehr ist müsste er schon an die 150 meter breit sein. Zudem fließen Flüsse nie gerade aus sondern schlängeln sich ständig, mit vielen Fluss-"armen" und verzweigungen.

I don't use world edit and have never done rivers but have done many marshes(not swamps like in minecraft biomes). Swamps have more trees; marshes have more reeds. I do like some of your suggestions and will incorporate them into my marshes.

A good tip for making the riversides look more natural (as you're using cobblestone as well) Is using halfslabs to make it look like a softer sloper towards the river. If you're using a Pack with metadatas, halfslabs could really make a good use if they have gravel or dirt textures.

You could make a masking 1 high cylinder, with something else than grass or dirt and then that way you can quickly layout rivers.

In order to become larger, rivers require input from many other creeks. You've only got one feeding into this, which magically gets wider.

World edit is in game and on servers but McEdit is a separate program but you can change massive areas at once!
