When you sign your paperwork on delivery day they will hand you a registration card for the truck at least temporarily until your plates come in

@@doingitruss9942 working through my 8 steps now 🎉 As far as home charging: can you manually adjust the amperage that the truck is pulling from the charger? We only have a 100 amp service to the house and would prefer to charge slower to avoid overloading the panel

@@allst4rm3 you can adjust in the truck. So if you ever charge in a place your unfamiliar you can limit it.

Thanks for sharing. Did you have to start insuring the rivian before knowing the delivery date? Kind of odd to add insurance and start paying for coverage to get the proof of insurance to upload step 4&5. Thanks in advance

Great questions. State Farm entered in the predicted start date of the insurance and stated it could be easily changed once I knew for sure. While I was talking to them about that, my guide emailed me with the actual date. So it worked out but you will need an insurance card with the Rivian listed on it. SF also stated you have a 30 day overlap so it wasn't that big of an issue.

I think this is why Rivian will have an advantage over buying from Ford the 150 lightning. I expect to hear horror stories dealing with Ford's dealers. People should also look at Rivian stock at these ultra-cheap prices. They have $17B in cash....about 30 times more capital than Tesla had back in the day when it launched its Model S.

With approximately 1.5 yr wait when do they pick up the trade in? Once you place order or when your rivian arrives many months later?

If you did have a trade and you excepted their offer they would drop off your truck and flatbed your trade-in and take it with them

Good to see that side of the process. Would have been nice to see some prices you saw for insurance costs to compare rivian vs your current provider rate. I got a quote for my order and it was not actually bad. Alittle more than my (when new) fully loaded volvo s60 t6 awd r-design with polstar tune from the factory. Will have to look for the quote again. If I find it I'll share.
