Pros: The suspension in it is so good the entire family pass out on road trips. The sound system is like none other, and I came from a Model Y performance. The steer-by-wire just cannot be praised enough, so much so that I get hysterical when people call it 'just a stainless steel refrigerator'. The range is better than I could have asked for (77% original range at 80 mph), and the offroad experience is unreal. Moving the viser to the left opens up that already huge windshield and makes road tripping extremely relaxing. The 18.5" screen is freaken awesome. Rear leg room for 6' 2" dude is damn good. Cons: The ventilated seats need to be improved, and misty days make the windshield wiper squeak because it's so overkill. I scratched my leg just enough to bleed when I lost control of the door because I was on a slight incline. I hit a limb which knocked the right-side door pillar plastic cover off (though it did snap back on).

I agree with your tester. I am a skinflint on electricity. So I have a M3 for the efficiency. And I also need and use a truck, but I would never put enough miles on the truck to make it pay for it at those prices. I figured this out after already spending a lot of money on a new truck a couple of years ago. Like you said in the video this is the money is no object audience and it is a lifestyle rig. I will watch the used EV trucks drop to half price and then maybe it makes sense like an F150 Lightning so it wouldn't be so painful to get into the EV truck. But it would have to be a price is right game. The real question mark for me is the towing range. When I use my truck it is for truck things and many times I am towing. Sometimes it is just short distances to town and back, but other times it is multiple back to back pulls bringing in hay from fields and the distances can get long and it is both on road and off road use. I don't have time to make a run, go into town and DCFC for 40-50 minutes and go make another run etc. That happens once a year typically. This year I didn't need that much hay so it was 3 runs at about 60 miles per loop pulling around 8k lbs. But a normal year it would have been 6 to 8 runs out and back. You have to be flexible, and have the right tool for the job. I can't see owning 2 trucks when 1 truck will do the job. The current truck doesn't get in the way of getting the work done. Time is money and time matters, weather changes and you have to get hay out of the field. That makes the EV truck a harder sell. That Silverado EV probably gets much closer to that target with the monster battery and fast charging times, but again it would have to be in the used category and half price before I would be nudged to make the change. The Lightning prices are getting there in the used market.

I am a cybertruck owner, I was freaking at the price but one thing we must understand it comes fully loaded. You get FSD (one of these days 😜) but we are also getting PowerShare which honestly people are overlooking that if you got the power wall devices that can easily be $40k+. I think personally it’s decent value compared to some competition out there to be frank.

I love the toughness of the stainless steel. My last truck, an F-150, would get scratched beating through brush and dinged in parking lots from other doors or shopping carts. The Cybertruck just shrugs everything off without damage, beating through brush is fun again. I used to feel so nervous because I knew I was rubbing the dirt into that fragile clearcoat. And my F-150 would sway side-to-side on rugged roads with potholes, the ride was tiring, the Cybertruck is smooth, like a magic carpet ride.

If you want to see an impressive U-turn, test drive an EQS 580 with 10 degree rear steering. For a very long sedan, this EV turns and parks with great ease. The SUV version probably performs similar. I'm spoiled, so now want every new EV to have rear wheel steering.

I was an early reservation holder and just passed on my non foundation series cybertruck after test driving a ford f150 lightning. I traded my model 3 which I e had for 5 years for the ford. I just can’t get past how cheap and poorly put together the cybertruck I test drove was. It drove okay but aside from that felt cheap and poorly designed. I really wanted to like it I was a 112xxx reservation holder and loved my model 3 which I put 75k miles on. After driving my model 3 for 5 years the ford felt luxurious and much higher quality than cybertruck. Cybertruck isn’t ready yet but maybe in 5 years after they ditch the steel and that terrible design. The dash was just ridiculous driving around.
